Windermere offers an ideal base from which to explore the Lakes. How you do this is entirely up to you! Trains run regularly from the local station, just a short walk away. The much loved Lake Windermere steamers depart from nearby Bowness, another hugely popular Lakeland town. Walkers of all abilities will enjoy easy access to fabulous routes literally from your doorstep. Itâs not just the great location of this holiday home that guests will find a bonus. This property benefits from a fabulous wet room and delightful, well equipped shaker style kitchen. Combine these with the cosy lounge and beautifully presented dining room and guests will appreciate the careful attention the owners have put into creating a holiday cottage with that special home from home feel about it. There is one step into the property. Initial fuel for open fires included during the winter and autumn months, thereafter available locally at cost.
Very clean and well presented property in an excellent location allowing access to all local amenities within a 5 min walk, including some excellent coffee shops, bars and restaurants. The parking around the back of the property was tight as described but local on street parking was always available with minimal fuss. From the initial email right through to leaving the property the owners provided a first class service, we will certainly be recommending the property to our friends.
My wife and I stayed at this property with our 3 kids (ages 6-11). We had a great time at this location. Plenty of beds for a family of 5 and well sized common rooms. This isn't a large property but it uses its space efficiently and it doesn't feel crowded. The location is close to the bus line which is very helpful for exploring the area. Several shopping options nearby was very helpful and the Booths at the train station was a 5 minute walk away (very convenient!). We would definitely rent here again on our next visit to the Lake District.
