Flood, electrical fire Sky Run WP Crestview 603
Long story with a lot of details: 1/8/24 reserved unit & final pmt on 1/13/24 for 2/12 - 2/16/24 stay. On/around 1/8/24 building sustained extensive flood, impacting all floors. 2/10/24 Sky Run text/emailed with check-in & access instructions. 2/11/24, a mere 28 hrs before check-in Sky Run text to indicate a large flood had occurred causing no damage to unit but impacting on-site amenities - made no mention flood occurred prior to 2/11/24!! Sky Run offered $25/day discount or to cancel with no penalty. Due to late notice, we specifically asked if there were any plumbing or electrical issues & agreed to stay; their response "additionally, there are no electrical issues in the unit and your utilities will not be affected due to the repairs at any time". 2/14/24 AM we text Sky Run due to lack of hot water for showers; maintenance arrived that afternoon, indicated it might be a heating element & reset water heater. 2/15/24 while cooking breakfast a distinct electrical smell started which dissipated afterwards. Upon returning from dinner, smell was still prevalent & contacted Sky Run. Fire Dept was dispatched & electrical breaker box investigated. 2/16/24 while cooking breakfast overpowering electrical smell returned, inspected to find flames/electrical fire had started!! 911 called, found out that suppression sprinklers had been turned off to 1/2 the building, including our unit!! Reservation was refunded but would not refund our losses from that day, nor would property owner!!
