Escape to the privacy of your own little Artist’s Hideaway after a long day’s exploration in beautiful Surrey or a short trip into London. Need to quarantine? Independent access and living along with a self check-in safe means you never have to come in contact with host if you do not wish to.
Cute, cosy space decorated with original artwork by resident artist. Ground floor is composed of lounge area with convertible sofa, fully equipped open kitchen including washing machine and dishwasher and shower room/toilet. Accessed by steep wooden steps, the mezzanine boasts a super comfortable double memory foam bed.

The host welcomed us with a quick tour around the house as soon as we arrived. It was a comfortable stay and we were made to feel like we were back home in our own house. I would recommend this house to anybody staying in the area and hope to use this property myself again in the future. I would like to say a big thank you to Clair and her partner and wish them both all the best.

Had a very comfortable stay in the hideaway. The steep steps up to the bedroom were not as tricky as I had anticipated. Was a very hot weekend, temperatures 30 degrees but fans provided and did a good job maintaining a comfortable temperature. Just stayed one night, would have found the low sloping ceiling in the bedroom frustrating if staying for a long time. A very well equipped place.

Sehr nette und unkomplizierte Gastgeber! Die Unterkunft war sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was nötig war. Als "Basis" fĂŒr AusflĂŒge absolut geeignet. Die einzige Empfehlung fĂŒr diese Jahreszeit wĂ€ren warme Socken oder "Hausschuhe", da es sehr fußkalt ist. ; )

Well located backyard studio where it was fun to live among the locals.

Maurizio and Claire were the perfect hosts. Very helpful but not intrusive. We enjoyed the artwork and seeing the birds in the garden. We loved the quirkiness of the sleeping loft. And going up and down the ships ladder kept us fit!

Convenient pet-friendly hideaway

Lovely little hideaway for us & our dog. Owners were most helpful & hospitable, and very quick to sort the one minor issue we had. The property was well-equipped and the cafe at the end of the road a handy place to breakfast!

A gem of a find - very comfortable, clean, well appointed, close to trails - highly recommended!

Maurizio and Claire were amazing hosts. The property is truly self-sufficient and has a very cozy feel. There’s a supermarket nearby, and it’s just a few minutes drive to the town centre. Super access to many hiking trails, as well as convenient public transport to London or a short drive to Heathrow.

The Artist's Hideaway - A Nice Holiday Home from Home

We rented this as a place to stay whilst my fiancé was visiting the UK and we needed a place to ourselves. We stayed for just over a month, and found it quite homely. The kitchen is well equipped with full sized oven, electric hob, dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge freezer. The fridge freezer is a bit small, so if staying for a long term visit, you'll find yourself needing to shop for fresh food items every other day or so. The lounge area is comfortable and features a TV with FreeSat. The shower room features a power shower, small sink, and toilet. There was a small issue with the bathroom whilst we were there, but this was swiftly resolved by the hosts Maurizio and Claire. Now, on to the potential turn off for this lovely place is the access to the bedroom is via a steep ship's stairs and that once your up there if you're anything above 3ft tall, you'll not be standing up straight any time soon. As such it will be difficult to recommend this to anyone with mobility issues, or does not like the sound of having to crawl/walk on your knees to get around the bedroom. Aside from this unavoidable hurdle, the bed was most comfortable, and there's plenty of drawers and a wardrobe. There is the option to either do the laundry of the bedlinen and cleaning etc yourselves, or the hosts can do this for a fee. We were also staying during the small heatwave in July, and the bedroom gets very hot. This can be counteracted by the two velux windows, but as these face towards other properties with an unobstructed view into the bedroom, we felt it difficult to leave these wide open at night. Similarly as the bed was pre-equipped with a heated blanket (unnecessary during out time there), I expect that in the winter months the bedroom gets a bit chilly, but at least the issue has been counteracted. The hosts themselves are most lovely and keen to ensure that your stay is comfortable, even if they're currently away from the main house. Parking - sometimes it's easy to park outside the main house, other times not. We found that the parking bays nearby were more often than not empty so we're weren't too fussed. All in all, despite the eccentricities of this tiny house in the back garden of a semi-detached house in Old Woking, my fiancé and I would stay again. For long term stays (i.e. Over 7 days), any more that two adults would be a bit too snug, but short term / overnight stays you could fit four well acquainted adults thanks to the sofa bed.
