Failed winter getaway
Stayed for a long weekend to recover from a traumatic family loss. Severe cold caused the drains to freeze in the home and water backed up into the kitchen floor while we were cooking dinner. After about 2 hours of frantic calls back and forth with the on call property manager and the maintenance man, we determined the property was not functional, as we could not use the bathrooms or kitchen sink. We packed up at about 10:30 at night in the pitch dark, below freezing weather and drove all the way home. We were promptly refunded our money for the nights we did not use. It was a shame, as this was the 3rd time we have stayed at the property and it has always been a positive experience in the past.
