This was a very nice place to stay with lots of space and all the amenities at a great rate. It would have helped if we could communicate in Chinese as: 1) the check-in process was a mystery, and 2) the internet/WiFi cut out on our last day. There isn't a "Royal Garden" sign to make out; the place is tucked away in a large complex. I don't know how we would have found the place if not for our taxi driver calling to find out the exact location to check-in. The security are very kind and friendly and assisted us the best they could with getting situated. The place is located in a quiet, clean, safe complex, just our particular apartment had an unpleasant, slightly smoky smell in the hall bathroom. I was expecting good internet access and WiFi, and for the first two days, it was great. But on the morning we were checking out, it either went out or it was shut off. This was very inconvenient as I had been working on a very important project which needed to be submitted before we traveled out of Xi'an that morning. Thankfully, I was able to submit my work at a butcher shop across the street, yet it was a very stressful dilemma. However, I feel any issues probably could have been easily fixed if I knew how to contact the owners and communicate in Chinese about the issue. There are places to buy fresh produce and to eat very close by. I am still thinking of the delicious fish dinner we had on our first night there; it was superb.
