This is in a beautiful location! High up in the hills. The hotel is lovely.
We arrived and waited for an hour or so. It seemsd abandoned and the telephone number was out of order. So we decided to leave and walk down the hill to find another hotel.
So lucky for us we asked a man if he had a tuktuk and it turned out he worked at the hotel sometimes so took us back.
Indika was incredile. He looked after us from start to finish. Made sure our rooms were kovely and clean. Brought us refreshments. Drove us to a restaurant in the evening for dinner. Made us a delicious breakfast in the morning. Indika made our stay a 10 out of 10 but I have to mark down for there being nobody there when we arrived.

Should be better maintained and managed
The Fortress Balumgala is located in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. However, it could be better maintained and managed. Under no circumstances should the guest be charged double the price for dinner because he arrived on a public holiday.
