Lawson is 2 min walk. Onsen is great We stayed on top floor 5th floor, lift only goes to 4th floor unfortunately, so carry up luggage 25 steps. Might need help if you struggle with heavy lifting Room is spacious. Lobby lounge comfy. Well family ran hotel. Shuttle bus runs frequently morning till 6pm. The shuttle bus at echigo station stops on the right side as you come out the sliding door of the station if you are looking for it. There is ski rental if needed. Small souvenirs shop with second hand ski equipment if needed. Fresh towel every day . Nice place to stay Has to use shuttle bus if you don’t have a car. Otherwise taxi. We had a car. There is 3 parking spot in front of hotel. Most of the time they were available during our stay. Street parking is easy I think.

Great stay

Hotel Yuzawa Yuzawa is a gem of a hotel. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We were able to drop off all of our luggage at the hotel earlier and they took us to the ski slopes via their bus. The breakfast was well worth it - the food there is good. We paid for the extra dinner which was also quite good as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to most people as a good economical place to stay. The only downsides to the hotel was the rooms did not have a bathroom so you had to go to the common bathrooms on the floors but that's a minor inconvenience.

Nice one night stop over. Location is not in central area. Onset is nice but crowded when I stayed Sunday with locals. Breakfast was good. Solid place, fairly clean, no extra’s.

Close to Skiing

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Yuzawa during February (for skiing). It's a small hotel conveniently located to several ski resorts but not for dinning.The room we stayed in, does not have its own bathroom/toilet. The room was a traditional Japanese style room, sleeping on the floor with futons. Note, you'll have to make your own bed and pack it away in the morning. There are communal toilets on each floor, with the bathroom facilities located within the "Onsen" area. The room itself was clean and has a small heater to keep you warm. As for dining, you'll have to arrange a free shuttle bus with the hotel to get into town, but make your own way back by taxi (cost 1400-1800 yen). There are no restaurants around the hotel, but there is a convenient store with limited stocks located 10 minutes walk from hotel. As for skiing, you can hire ski/snowboards equipment, clothing and buy ski tickets from the hotel. The hotel will provide free shuttle bus to and from some ski resorts, which is rather convenient.

Nice hotel

It a nice hôtel but kinda old. It what theo call à minshuki. It like a ryokan style room but Without the room service. You need to made your own bed ( very simple to do). In overall, great place.

Great traditional hotel for skiing

We were skiing at Gala. The hotel staff was very nice. The room had traditional Japanese futon style bedding which would have been uncomfortable after more thansa few nights

Great place, Special find!

Perfect balance of traditional Japanese Onsen and Ski lodge. Local ski hill specials and shuttles. Outstanding staff, understood more English than my japanese! Great Traditional food. Will be staying here next year here!

Location is far from Yuzawa station where the Main street of town. Not many transportation option to go three. Taxi or private bus are useful but costly or fixed time schedule.

スキー旅行に最適

毎年スキー旅行で利用しています。２月は料金高めでしたが、３月のこの時期になるとだいぶ安くなって助かります。 予約時には食事は付けられませんでしたが、チェックインの時に朝食ビュッフェを追加することができました。(税込¥1430)夕ごはんは近所に食べに行きました。 コンビニ派にはロビーに電子レンジ、各階に給湯器や共用冷蔵庫もあり便利だと思います。 お風呂は広くて清潔でのんびり入れました。チェックアウト後、スキー終わりにもう一度入浴させてもらえるのは本当にありがたいです(^^)
