Beautifully modernised Old Stone House with amazing views and infinity pool

In a stunning olive grove location with fantastic sea views, Old Olive House is 45 minutes from Kalamata International Airport , a beautifully designed house, with a gorgeous infinity pool.

Completely secluded for getting away from it all and experiencing the real Greece, this old stone house has been renovated from top to bottom to create a designer house whilst keeping traditional touches.

The house sleeps 6, in 3 large bedrooms each with private terrace. The master bedroom has a free-standing bath, ensuite shower room, and a 4 poster bed.

Ellie our wonderful house manager lives 10 minutes away, will meet you and show you the house, and can give great tips on what to do and see to make your holiday truly memorable.

The unspoiled sandy beaches of this coast are 5 min down the hill in both directions. (There are 60k m of undeveloped beaches in 1 stretch alone here). A different beach for every day of the holiday!

The local market town 5 minutes away has lovely fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and the best bread in Greece. Try the olive oil pressed from the grove the house sits in - free for guests to enjoy. Great local tavernas at amazingly reasonable local prices are nearby - eat like a true Greek - not a tourist! Try the local wine at long established vineyards nearby.

Ancient Olympia, Ancient Messene, the Temple of Apollo, Methoni Castle and the historic Bay of Navarino are all within a short drive, the Ancient Greek capital of Naphlion and Epidavros make a great day trip.

Wonderful walks can be had in the Neda Waterfall Gorge and Arini Gorge - all a short drive away.

If you want to really get away from it all - with lovely beaches, historical sights and amazing nature - in a beautiful house - Old Olive House is for you.

NOTE there is a separate guest lodge available which sleeps a further 4 people in one double, one twin room, shared bathroom - please enquire if you would like to add this at extra charge to your booking - this is only ever combined with a main house booking.

SĂ©jour parfait !

À quelques kilomĂštres de Zacharo, avec une vue imprenable sur la mer, isolĂ© de tout bruit ou agitation, nous avons profitĂ© pleinement de cette villa (sans louer la dĂ©pendance). À 6 personnes, cette villa offre tout le confort attendu d’une villa de vacances. Un vrai merci Ă  Ellie et Charles pour leur accueil et leurs bons conseils.

TrÚs belle maison agréable à vivre

Notre séjour en GrÚce à été trÚs agréable grùce à cette maison, lieu de repli aux heures chaudes de la journée. Quelques commodités domestiques à améliorer (toilettes, douches, mais il parait que c'est la norme en GrÚce) pour une maison de ce standing.

Magnifique villa nichée dans la montagne

La maison à flanc de montagne est magnifique et offre plein sud une vue grandiose sur toute la région de Zacharo. Qualité des équipements (grand frigo, literie trÚs confortables, multiples ustensiles de cuisine...) et belle décoration, on voit tout de suite que la maison à une ùme. Elle est trÚs bien agencée et agréable à vivre. Belle piscine et jardin intéressant à explorer. Accueil chaleureux et efficace de Charles et Ellie qui se sont pliés en quatre pour solutionner le petit problÚme d'eau survenu. Zacharo est à 8mn en voiture avec tous les magasins nécessaires. Les plages de la région sont superbes et encore assez sauvages (pas de tourisme de masse). Mention spéciale pour le restaurant de bord de mer de Kalo Nero (cadre, qualité, service pour un prix imbattable). Le resto / plage de Biskinocampus est aussi bien et un peu plus animé. Au global, un séjour reposant particuliÚrement agréable.

Gorgeous house

The house and especially the pool is fabulous in a beautiful setting with wow views. It worked great with our gang of teenagers and had all the facilities and kitchen equipment you might need. Really nicely done. Ellie could not have been more helpful and warm and responsive. My gripe is with the misleading online presentation that it sleeps 10 with 5 bedrooms which is what we were after. When we arrived we were told we would only get the main house and the annex was extra. This is because we originally thought only 2 of the teens were joining us but actually 2 additional kids decided to meet us mid interrailing. This caused a complication when checking in and being charged an extra amount.

Blissful Stay in Zaharo

The most glorious house with everything you could possibly need for a really relaxing and comfortable stay. The view is simply breathtaking, the master bedroom is wonderfully comfortable. The clever insect screens meant that meals were mozzi and bug free. The gorgeous pool was perfect for cooling off or doing ‘laps’. Ellie the manager was wonderful and the house and surroundings were impeccable. It’s been the most heavenly restorative time. I would, without hesitation, come back again and lucky, lucky anyone who comes to stay. Zaharo has everything you need for food shopping. A Magical Stay at The Old Olive House

We had a truly memorable stay at The Old Olive House. The charm and hospitality were evident from the moment we arrived. The house has a beautiful old-world character that added a special touch to our vacation—something we rarely experience back in the States.The house fit our family of six perfectly, with plenty of space to relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. The pool was absolutely lovely—the perfect temperature for a refreshing dip—and the view from the property was simply incredible, especially at sunset.The grounds were well cared for and bursting with beautiful flowers, adding even more to the home’s charm. One highlight of our trip was a dinner at Antipeina, a fantastic little spot tucked in the hills. The food was out of this world, the staff and owners were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the setting was picture-perfect—adorable and romantic, with a breathtaking view as the sun went down.We’re so grateful for the experience and would highly recommend The Old Olive House to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway full of character and local flavor.Thank you, Ellie.

Incredible vistas

The property provides a remarkable view over the town, olive groves, hills and ocean. The house is beautiful, and makes the most of its surroundings, with wonderful outdoor dining areas, balconies, places to read and relax. The kitchen is well appointed, the beds comfortable, and the layout lends itself to reading, games, yoga, and conversations. The manager was an attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant host.

Great house with stunning views

We had a very enjoyable holiday. It is very peaceful and there was little building work taking place when we stayed. We would have liked more hot water for showers morning and evening for 6 adults. Zacharo beach is very beautiful but with rough sea, it was not safe to swim in. Ellie is very responsive to requests for help and the wine/milk/bread in the fridge for us on arrival was very welcoming. Thank you.

Old Olive House

The managers were friendly and helpful , always responded promptly- thank you. The pool was divine and the view from house patios is unbeatable. Not quite the luxurious escape we had in mind as far as the house goes. Missing a few touches to bring it to luxury scale - such as no shampoo, very little soap and no beach towels. Two bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom - downstairs bathroom was very tiny - shower water ran into the space. Decor a little tired. Also we believed we had the use of the guest house however apparently it must be booked as an extra- not an issue but would have been nice for one of the couples privacy. The place is a fair way out of town but we got used to navigating the narrow roads and the locals waved out once they knew we were harmless. Close to Olympia and Ressene sites. Lots of nice coffee shops and bakeries in town. We loved the visits from goats, hare hound dogs, and cats. Construction noise from below was everyday starting at 7..30 am until evenings. Got used to it . Overall a really lovely spot but not quite as luxurious as described. .

A hidden gem

We have had a wonderful time (June) at this amazing property. The house is clean, off the beaten pass, has a really nice pool, and lots of nature around it. the communication with the property managers was easy, quick and focused. Early summer break

Overall we had a great holiday our hosts ellie and Charlie were really helpful And welcoming. however we were there for a week and the first three days a builder directly below our property working on new holiday houses started breaking up large rocks with a jcb and hammer drill so what we had hoped would be a peaceful week certainly didn’t turn out that way. The noise was horrendous and constant from 8am-5pm - Ellie and Charlie had not been aware of this work and did speak to the builder who ceased using the heavy machinery from mid week which was a welcome relief but so upsetting given we were only there for a week and picked the property for its total tranquility . The area is very rural and unspoilt and the property is lovely and had everything we had hoped for and was well equipped. You have far distant sea views and overlook olive groves but you certainly cannot walk to the beach a car is therefore absolutely essential. We had two earthquake tremors during our stay .. very minor and we were told common in this area but a little alarming when we had never experienced anything like it before. The local town a short drive away has supermarkets and a selection of shops so you can get everything you need for a self catering holiday. The property is in a stunning location but certainly wouldn’t be a place to take young children as there are steep steps down to the pool area and once down by the pool it isn’t fenced.

What an amazing place

We booked this place without really knowing anything about the region or the location and we were blown away by the beauty of the property and its surrounds! One of the most amazing views I’ve seen. We were close enough for a day trip to Olympia and for another day at the beach. Kids loved the pool even early in the season. We absolutely loved this property!

Dream farmhouse

This is a beautiful house and property. The location is somewhat remote which means driving to town and beach, but it's blissfully private and serene. The views are magnificent. The home is tastefully and comfortably furnished and decorated. The kitchen is very well supplied with high quality utensils which made cooking a pleasure. The hardest part was leaving this terrific vacation home.

Beautiful house in a secluded spot

Beautiful house, well equipped and with an exceptional view. The house managers, Charles & Ellie we’re on hand to sort out the various issues we had with electrics and plumbing. The pool was perfect and nearby there are some great beaches and of course ancient sites. A wonderful place for a Grecian getaway.

Great home base

Forthcoming hosts. Well stocked welcome basket and wine. Fabulous views and outdoor dining spots on the terrace. Spacious for our small group.
