The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. However, if you have a car, be aware that there is no parking nearby and it is impossible to stop in front of the hotel to unload your luggage. The welcome was impeccable and the room was clean. The hotel is old and poorly maintained. The spring mattress is very uncomfortable and the pillow is so thin it's like not having one at all. The sink and shower drained slowly and there was no soundproofing. If you are looking for a well-located, clean and inexpensive place to stay and comfort is not a priority for you, this place will do. If not, you should explore other options

It was a very nice experience. Very helpful and cheerful staff and good location at center of Lagos. Only the artificial light of the room was not the best. The room is very clean and i will be back of course in my next trip to Lagos.

Great location and a great stay! Rooftop patio is a perfect spot to sit in the evenings as the sun sets, you can lookout over the bay and fishing wharves. Definitely would recommend, it’s a quiet location, but close to everything!

Room was small and old but you don’t go there for the room. Bed wasn’t the most comfortable. It was very close to the main area and for the price it was good. The rooftop terrace was also a nice bonus!

Location is the star of this hotel, restaurant, supermarket, marina, shopping all within 10 mins walk. The front desk staff David is excellent, very patient, helpful. The hotel is dated with no vent in the bathroom needs to put into consideration. But over all is very nice to have short stay in Lagos

All round this is a very pleasant place to stay, all the more so thanks to the wonderful staff. In particular the knowledgeable and welcoming guys, Hernane and David, on the reception. The rooftop balcony is delightful and offers spectacular views of the city and its marina. For sure some people will have a moan that some of the furnishings are outdated, but personally I consider this adds to the character and charm of the hotel. The main square is literally only a couple of minutes away with an abundance of shops and excellent cafes.

I enjoyed my stay at the Lagosmar. Hernani at the front desk made my stay what is was. He is exceptional, professional, friendly, helpful and above all caring. I loved the terrace, a beautiful space to relax and the best place to be for sunset. This is a charming older hotel and retains a sense of class. The staff is really amazing and they make you feel very special. Don’t expect pillow top beds or rain fall shower heads - it’s definitely an older property but it has good sized, clean rooms with large closets. There’s a lovely roof top sitting area with an amazing view. It’s tricky to get to with a car - no parking or even a pull out for checking in - so if you really need a car to be close to you this isn’t your place - but otherwise this hotel is quaint and in an excellent location.

I don’t know why this hotel has good reviews. I booked this because of the reviews and the cleanliness but when we got there I was so disappointed. It really changed my mood on our stay at Lagos. This place was old and definitely needs a renovation. There was a musty smell in the room. I could tell the moment we went inside that the place was dirty. The toilet, it was so dated, the sink faucet was loose when you needed to turn on faucet, towel rack was coming off the wall and hair dryer not working. Had to borrow from reception for the portable. The beds, gross!!! It had a few hair on it by the pillow on both beds and the end of the bed has shoe mark. Personally, I do not think the sheets were replaced. Disgusting and dirty!!!The tv plug was not working and you cannot plug the tv. Hence we cannot watch anything at night. Thank God we only stay for two nights there, I was so disgusted with the place. Overall, the only good this about this place it the location. Everything else it’s terrible. I didn’t care so much of being dated but I cared about the cleanliness and this place was not.
