Enjoy and relax

Publié le 13 juin 2017 sur Hotels
We were very happy at Quinta, had a nice house, well equipped kitchen, good bed upstairs, well working aircon, very nice, helpful staff, Sonja, Margerita, Pedro wonderful dedicated people, some dogs (the sausage came every time we cooked and waited paytiently for a snack, some of the cats were rather a pain because they always wanted to get inside our room, lots of chicken and beautiful roosters, and all those fig trees with juicy figs, we could also get vergetables from the garden, the swimming pool is open any time, great farming area, quiet (of course the roosters tell you when it's time to get up), Tamina is worth a trip (interesting old town), 6 km away is a big shopping center open till 10 PM, The WiFi was not very strong, Maria is a good cook but the price for a meal is out of proportion, 25 Euros is much too much for what you get (especially when you exspected shark and shrimp and only got some fish a little bigger than Sardines), that was our only disappointment- otherwise a great place to stay and enjoy.

Rural stay close to southern beaches

Publié le 31 oct. 2015 sur Expedia
Pour : There is so much to write but picking up a few - the character, the staff and the cats make the place
Contre : Its pretty much on target for its market
Emplacement : The farm is near Castro Marim, a town with two forts, beaches and wetlands for birds
If you love something different and cats this is the place for you. It is a generational family-run organic farm that also offers accommodation in a small number of converted farmhouses which retain the charm but add on the modern conveniences. It is self-catering but there is shopping nearby and you can help yourself to produce from the farm. They also turn the produce into innovative products like oregano flavoured salt that you can purchase. The staff are obliging, informed and enthusiastic and you get a tour of the farm when you arrive, accompanied by Delilah, the most enchanting cat we have met. It close to beaches also if you want to spend a day at those. We arrived by car but there is a cute train station only a couple of hundred metres away.
