Beautiful home!

Wow! Such a nice place. Gorgeous setting. Good location for heading to Davis Mountains State Park, Big Bend, or hanging around Alpine. We loved it. Can’t wait to come back.

Spring Break

The property was great. If you want to unwind and get away and off the grid, this is the place. I was worried about not having a tv, but it was not an issue. If the family wanted technology, they just used their devices. The beds were all very comfortable. A/C and heaters worked perfectly. Only complaint was we had the wrong WiFi password (which has been fixed) and could not communicate when trying to enter the property. We had difficulty using the code on the keypad and could not reach anyone until driving back down off the property to get a signal. It didn’t take long to fix though. Host was very responsive! Highly recommend!

The property was so interesting…decorated with an eclectic flair. It was perfectly laid out for our needs - two senior couples. The owner was accessible when needed. Due to time restraints we didn’t get to use the fire pit or the screened in porch to drink coffee and watch the sunset. We’re already planning another road trip with a stop at this property in the future.

Great Mountain Stay

The night before arriving here we stayed in a Terlingua Bubble and got *miserable* sleep from a room with no ventilation. The temperature didn't change much from Terlingua to Alpine, but we were amazed that two wall unit ACs, and a good series of ceiling fans, cooled and ventilated this house as well as could be expected without central air. Having skepticism turned around within a few hours is a great way to begin a stay. Great amenities. Not just a hand-me-down Hall of Fame rental property, my biggest gripe with Vrbo properties. Tons of windows, which is great through the day, especially given the surrounding scenery. If I could improve this place I'd have light-canceling blinds for the windows in the bedrooms. The master bed is listed as a queen, but my wife and I guessed that it could be a full, sleeping was full of more kicks and elbows than we wanted. The room is big enough to fit a king (minus a bed stand). We have two teenage kids so two twin beds on the other side of the house made this ideal for our family. Love the OCD photos inside the cabinets to show how everything goes back in its proper place. Some of us can appreciate that. The next time an OCD urge strikes, I'd do a re-labeling of the switches for the lights and fans. Even till the last morning we were still flipping every switch we saw guessing at what it turned on or off. Great WiFi, great modern refrigerator and stove. Given the opportunity to come back to this area we'd definitely stay here again.

I rented this property last moment for a weekend getaway motorcycle trip to Terlingua, Lajitas and Presidio and the Davis loop. It was a good location only about 15 miles south of the town of Alpine in the mountains. The property was very clean. It is rustic the beds were comfortable the sheets were clean. The bathroom was Clean. It had ample hot water and good shower pressure. Their was ample amount of clean towels. The kitchen was perfect and had all the utensils and glasses. There was a coffee maker although I didn’t use it. All we used were wine glasses. the refrigerator works well and it was clean. The lighting Inside was very good. There was a detached garage that we could use and did for our motorcycles. April was very accommodating. She let us check in earlier than normal. Her communication was excellent. The things I didn’t like were there was no soap or shampoo, so bring your own. Also the driveway to the house is very rocky and unpaved and narrow. There’s a lot of small pebble type of rocks in front of the garage. For motorcyclist it is not very conducive. we had a F250 and a trailer. We did manage to get it in however, to turn it around it was difficult. At night it is very dark and it would be very hard to find the property. All in all, we had a great weekend motorcycling. Thank you April!

Big Bend trip

Property was as nice as described and probably better. We loved the solitude, view, and quiet. You are close enough to Alpine to have access to anything you might need, but away from the noise of town and traffic. The only thing lacking was a king size bed, but we knew this before we booked and that wouldn’t keep us from staying there again if we are ever back that way.

Wonderful location

The house was the perfect size for our family of four. We had plenty of space and seating for everyone. The view is amazing and we were far enough away from others to view the stars when it wasn't cloudy. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful house

The house is exactly like it shows on internet. House was very clean & beautifully decorated. Kitchen was well equipped & beds were very comfortable. Great view. The only thing is if you plan to go to Big Bend - ranger stations are 100 miles away which is quite a long drive through windy roads & 45 Mph once you got into the park (70 miles to park entrance). Also gravel- dirt road to house is fairly steep. All in all it’s a great place to stay & I highly recommend it!

The view!

This place was great! The view was better than expected.. The house was very accommodating and comfortable. Kitchen is fully furnished and useful. Road to the house is a gravel road and steep. It is still accessible with a two wheel drive. I can't say how much I loved the view especially before sunrise. Wake up early and enjoy!

A glimpse of God's Country

What a treat to stay at this property in the mountains near Alpine. The unique setting is fantastic! The first night we took in the gorgeous sunset - Double WOW! No TV was a plus, limited service a plus - time to unplug. The Wifi was superb...when needed. The only downside was some minor maintenance issues which the property manager was quick to offer a remedy and the main entrance rough was little rough, even for an SUV. Apart from those adjustments - a wonderful stay!

Incredibly beautiful views and quiet, isolated.

We stayed at Casa Del Luna on our third night in the area and wish that we had stayed there the whole time. The view outside to the west is absolutely spectacular. It’s the quintessential Texas desert country and its most beautiful form. I would Recommend anyone stay here if the price range is good for you and you looking to get an overall idea of the area.
