I stayed at OYO Alpine TX during my trip to Big Bend National Park, and overall the experience was mixed. The staff was very cooperative and polite, which I genuinely appreciated. However, the rooms and bathrooms were extremely small, making the stay uncomfortable. Hot water was another issue — the water was only warm, not properly hot. The biggest concern was the checkout and refund process. I checked out one day early and gave sufficient notice, but despite multiple follow-ups, I still have not received my refund. This part of the experience was quite frustrating. Considering these issues, I would recommend exploring other stay options in Alpine or nearby.

I was unable to cancel the reservation because it stated it was passed the date. Which it was not. Also, as I drove by the hotel, it was a dump! Someone at Hotels.com should have checked this place out before suggesting it.

This property should be condemned. The bathrooms are never cleaned, windows are cracked, rooms don’t lock, the walls Have huge cracks on them, Shower tubs are non usable, ac units are broken. Electric wires hang out, I spotted bed bugs, Ithaca bedsheets and comforter are So dirty they feel sticky to Touch. Rooms are never vacuumed. Microwave broken. Refrigerator is entirely missing, broken furniture

This hotel was nothing like the description and was by far the dirtiest, worst place I’ve ever seen. The building was falling apart, smelled awful, and we couldn’t stay more than five minutes after walking in. The beds were broken and extremely uncomfortable, and the bathrooms were filthy. We went straight to reception to cancel and ask for a refund, which they could only give in cash because they didn’t know how to return it to the card, and we left immediately. Completely unacceptable—do not recommend.

Room was dirty walls had holes bed was dusty I stayed for 30 minutes after check in before getting a whole new hotel. My wall had a fist sized hole in it and two black widows were crawling in and out. Cheap price for a reason stay away. Guy working front desk was taking a nap in the back had to ring each bell least once.

Very rundown and kinda dirty. But I got the room for very cheap at the last minute on the weekend of the Alpine Art Walk. So I can't be too picky. The folks at the front desk were friendly. It's about as close to the national park as can be expected and it's right around the corner from the nice shops and dining in Alpine.
