A glorified guest house! I didnât quite know what to make of it, in all honesty âŠ. Itâs not a hotel in the usual sense of the word. It literally has a room with a desk, which I guess you could call a reception. A small room with a couple of settees, that you walk through to get to a conservatory where breakfast is served.
Thatâs it!
Thereâs no bar and no communal areas to sit and relax.
Thereâs no housekeeping service (unless you ask), which I thought was strange, but after a while I kind of liked the fact that staff arenât in and out of your room.
Thereâs absolutely no atmosphere, we had the smallest TV on the wall (they need upgrading), the room was tired, warn in parts and very dark. Only 7 parking spaces, at the front!
However, the staff were hard working and pleasant, the breakfast was wonderful (compliments to the chef), the shower was powerful with loads of hot water, our room was quiet, it was in a good position for the centre of Grasmere, it was the cheapest hotel in Grasmere and it was clean.
Would I stay again? I think I would, yes.
