A fabulous hotel

The hotel was amazing - a classic luxury hotel. The building itself is a wonder. The room was spotlessly clean. The staff were outstanding. The beds were very comfortable, however it was a twin room and we would have preferred a double bed. We didn't eat at the hotel.

The staff were excellent, kind, accommodating. The building is old and in need of updating. The a/c was non functional and sleeping was hot. The room portable air conditioners exhausted hot air back into room.

Lovely old hotel. The staff were excellent. It was very hot and there is no A/C. We were on the 4th floor with a very small window which did not open very far. The thick wall retained the heat and it stayed hot all night. I booked a "canal view" room at extra cost. The window was high and small. You had to stand on a platform to look out the window and even then, the buildings ornamentation blocked a good part of the view. Save your money and avoid the "canal view"

Beautifully Unique Hotel

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Hotel Amrâth in Amsterdam. This beautiful historic hotel is stunning both inside and out. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Check-in was easy, and although we arrived early, we were able to leave our bags at the front desk and explore the city until our room was ready. Our room was just what we had hoped for, large with a comfortable bed, very high ceilings, and a unique, charming character. The pool area was excellent, with a clean pool, spa, sauna, steam room, and hot tub. After walking from the nearby Central Station, just a short and easy train ride from the airport, we were warmly greeted with a cold towel, which was a lovely touch. The location could not be better, only a short walk from the train station and within easy walking distance of almost everything in Amsterdam. We truly enjoyed our time here. The only thing that would have made it better is if guests were able to use the hotel’s beautiful old-style elevator, which I had seen while researching the hotel. Unfortunately, it is not available for public use, so I never had the chance to ride it, and I really would have liked to.

Great hotel in central location

Great hotel in a central location. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. We stayed in suite room 302, room was bright and well maintained and had a great view over the city. 5 mins to the central station and 10 mins Dam square. Couldn't fault it in any way.

Wonderful charming old hotel in a great location

Really impressive grand hotel with friendly staff and lovely big rooms. We had a great view and a comfy bed. What more can you ask for? Location was great, very close to the central station and near the heart of the city. Wouod very happily stay here again
