The staff are great. The hotel is probably lovely…. I say probably because I had the smallest and most uncomfortable room I’ve ever booked. The website said rooms were full so I knew it was a single. But the picture looked fairly good. I didn’t realize that there wasn’t even enough space on the side of the bed to walk. I had to crawl in, things didn’t work - the plug in the bathroom (which was small as well and would be hard to navigate if you were a bit on the larger size), there wasn’t a robe (although the website said to expect one) and the closet was close to nonexistent. I had no place to put my backpack and if I’d had luggage I don’t think it would have fit. Yet, this room with taxes cost 260 USA. They shouldn’t let it out. I feel quite ripped off. I would have left if it hadn’t been late and I was tired from having all my flights canceled for the second day in a row (hence the no luggage). Get a clue people and use this space for storage.

The room was spacious and clean, housekeeping did a great job, and all staff we talked with were spectacular - knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The pool and saunas were wonderful. Unfortunately, the hot tub wasn’t working, but that was only a minor disappointment. The hotel’s location is excellent, within walking distance of Amsterdam Centraal, and allows for easy navigation through the city.

The hotel was perfect for visiting Amsterdam. Close to the train and canals for easy transportation but also walkable to a majority of sights. The hotel was beautiful! I would definitely stay again!!

Love the hotel. Only thing is the room service…. I called up at 10.04pm only to be told room service from the menu stops at 10pm, when it’s advertised at 11m. Very disappointed as has to order pizzas which wasn’t what we wanted and weren’t all that. Apart from that the hotel is wonderful…

The Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam was the coolest place! Very old & just what we were hoping for in Amsterdam. Old, charming & fun. Very high ceilings in rooms. Staff was great. We could walk all over the city. If we ever return to Amsterdam, we would definitely stay here again.
