NEW Lake James, Indiana Waterfront Rental

Brand new First Basin Lake James rental located in Steuben County, Indiana on the most sought after chain of lakes in the State! Home was just completed in May of 2019 and features 4 large bedrooms with 4 full baths. Sleeps 14-16 people and everything is brand new from the linens to the furniture. This is a completely new home. Pontoon boat is available upon request for rental. Summer prime which is June and July I only accept Saturday to Saturday bookings.

Widmer Family Christmas Gift

Since we have kids in 3 states it’s challenging to get gifts home after our Christmas so about 5 years ago we decided to just pay for our family vacation and that would be everyone’s Christmas. Making memories and not having things that break or your outgrow. We had a lovely time at Lake James and hope to come back in 2 years

Graduation Getaway

Cal and Laura were amazing hosts. We had family from Connecticut, New York, Michigan, and Kansas in for our daughter’s graduation from Trine. The house was spacious with all we could have needed. The deck was my go to spot for my morning coffee and evening glass of wine. The kids enjoyed the fire-pit making s'mores. If you need a clean, well-stocked place for a large group for graduation or really any time visiting the area I would highly recommend it.

we were here with our extended familywe used to have a home over on Lone Tree Pointour kids used to love coming in the winter and enjoying the park, the tobaggon run and the innso this year we brought up the next generation to enjoy the area and we were not dissapointeda good time was had by all our VRBO house was great and the owners were very responsive to any questions we hadlook forward to coming back in the future

The house was just amazing, very spacious, clean, everything you could need. The docks are in great shape and the view was beautiful. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. We hope to come back.

Great for a family gathering!

Swimming off the dock with ladder was just right for both adults and kids. The lower deck is much bigger than it looks in pictures - plenty of room for people to sit, chat, snack, and come and go. Loved the view from the upper deck in the morning and evening. It was a wonderful lake vacation!

Exactly as pictured

We had a lovely stay. It was so cold that we were able to catch a timelapse of the lake freezing over in just a few hours, but it was warm and cozy inside. The house is clean and thoughtfully stocked. We appreciated that there were open gathering areas, as well as plenty of private rooms for guests to have their own space.

Serene Setting for Wedding Guests

Stayed here with wedding guests for a wedding in Fort Wayne. It was a very beautiful setting to relax in between all the events. Super clean, great location and beautiful lake!

Great Stay on Lake James

House was as described. Updated w/ great amenities and location. Excellent communication with the owners. Overall it was clean and satisfactory, just knocked it down one star since we had some dirty dishes and spider webs in a few areas in the house. Normally not a big deal but given the astronomical cleaning charges I had to knock it down a star. VRBO charges are getting out of control, there needs to be a competitor that takes it back to the way VRBO used to be. Had no sleep one night when the house lost power and home alarm and fire alarms beeped throughout the night. Not within owners control but routine replacement of backup batteries would be recommended. We loved our stay and the addition of the boat was worth the added charge.

Girls' Trip

Our stay was everything we could have wished for! What a fantastic home with all the amenities! The weather was wonderful so we spent our days in the sun and the nights by the fire pit. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you for such an amazing vacation!

The lake romp

This was our 3rd summer renting on Lake James and the second time renting from the Coys. This is a dream property and the hosts are delightful - they even let us occupy the house hours before the normal time. We’ll be back!!
