Beautiful location, lots of potential, but now, rooms, old, small mouldy bathroom, sink facet broken, very high water pressure, soaking wet every time we washed our hands! everything requires attention. Bed comfortable, very old well worn, stained linens. Extreely small room (yes older property, so expected, but reallllly small!) Staff friendly, very difficult to receive full daily service.

This “resort” is dated, dirty, worn out with broken furniture and lumpy twin beds as their norm in each room The photos shown online must be a secret room they keep hidden - because they did not exist in our booking The bathroom tap was an explosion of after that sprayed everywhere The windows were cracked and broken and did not open The floors were dirty and grimy Each cottage smelled worse than the previous one Like an old forgotten rotting momento forgotten in the attic We paid a small fortune for this room through Hotels.com, it was supposed to be a treat for us after weeks of travelling the east coast - it was terrible I was afraid to sleep in the bed, although the sheets were clean the bed was old and wobbly - the sheets smelled over powering with the scent of cheap laundry soap My husband slept in the bed beside me which was a full, mine was a twin We didn’t have coffee in the morning in the room because we didn’t trust the water quality from the plumbing This resort boils be stunning Instead it was disgustingly dirty and worn out a remnant from the 50’s with broken stained furniture The only upside was the restaurant We had a wonderful meal which helped ease our dread at the prospect of sleeping in that gross cottage

Property needs to get a freshen up. Just looking neglected. Could use some more uniform uniforms. It used to be a jewel of Nova Scotia and it can be again. All said I had a lovely trip that brought back many very found memories as child when my family visited this resort often. Best Regards.

I put in 2 noise complaints since my fiancé and I could not sleep because of the noise above us! The noise stopped after 1am and I put in the complaints before midnight! The night auditor did not seem to care considering I was paying close to 300 dollars for the night!! The security person had more sympathy and compassion

Too long of a line to check in as a very large group showed up all at the same time in front of us. They should have had a different counter for regular check ins. The duvet cover was all matted and lumpy and pillows cases were all very wrinkled. Bed did not look like it should in nice hotel. The restaurant food was very good. The staff was very professional! Beautiful view from our room.

Room was old and not well maintained. There was no fan in the bathroom and both the tub grout/caulking and sink tap surround had seen better days. (Not well cleaned) The windows were mildewed. The toilet flush broke when flushing so I had to take the top of the tank and pull the flap. Glad we only stayed one night.

The Hotel was amazing, our room not so much. We were initially put by the elevator which was very noisy and the bedding was lumpy. Things improved when we were moved across the hall. Breakfast was incredible. Service was good. The elevator stalled for a period requiring suitcases had to be moved down stairs but assistance was provided.

A very pleasant experience. The property reminded us of the old style where service matters. We were treated very well by everyone. Dining was very good, service and food, despite being a full house. We loved the feel of the dining room, whether for dinner or breakfast. Our room was fine, although updating would be welcome. The elevator was appreciated. A great place to relax.

The hotel is vintage for sure, is in a beautiful.location, and does well to keep it's character and heritage...but it needs upgrades. The bathrooms in the suites need refreshing (old fixtures, rust in some areas, very small and cramped) electrical outlets on the desk unit needed replacing (coffee maker kept tripping the breaker in our room). The elevator stopped working during our stay. The cleaning service to our room was somewhat lapse (forgot to change our towels). Overall, it was not worth the money that we paid.

The historical aspect is stunning however we decided to overnight to re group after a busy event with highlights of a hot shower and relaxing TV. The shower did not work properly ( barley) also bathroom tap not working. Finally.... TV remote ( maybe just batteries) however at this point we gave up and went to sleep. Bed comfort amazing , breakfast was delicious.

Terrible stay at The Pines, Digby 09/14-16/25 • At our arrival, there was no handicap access available for 8 steep front steps because the one and only handicap access was through an elevator that was broken and stayed unavailable for the 2 days we were there. There was no backup for handicap individuals. • No valet service was available to take our luggage up the front steps; two good samaritans took our luggage up. • No same level first-floor room was available, so we had to go up 8 more steps. • We had asked for a room with 2 beds; none was available, so we had to use one bed. • In the morning, we left the door sign to have the room cleaned. We returned at 4pm and the room had not been done. After 3 calls to the front desk, and waiting 1 hour, we finally got clean towels. • We wanted ice but only available on the 2nd floor with no elevator access. The person who brought the towels was kind enough to get us some ice. • Most horrible hotel experience we’ve had in all our years of travel in North America, Europe and Asia. • $400 a night is utterly outrageous for this kind of horrible accommodations and service. After talking to the manager, she gave us one free night. • Not having handicap access, and no back-up, is a major health hazard and likely a provincial transgression.
