Treetop Hideaway with mountain views. 1000 sq. ft. 10 min to downtown Asheville!
Welcome to our private treetop hideaway. We're tucked away in the trees on a high ridge, with stunning year round views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's a very special retreat, set on five wooded acres. Our 1000 square foot accommodation features 3 spacious and well furnished rooms, including a large living area with a full kitchen and a romantic gas fireplace. Our home is in a very quiet neighborhood and has no close neighbors. Itâs the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a truly relaxing vacation. We are located midway between Asheville and Weaverville and are just 10 minutes from both. Hosts: Jack and Robin
MORE INFORMATION The space: Our spacious 1000 square foot guest apartment is located on the ground floor of our home, below the large main house and down an outside flight of 15 steps from the parking area and deck. It has its own completely separate entrance. Robin and Jack live on the two upper floors with their friendly standard poodle âZeldaâ and playful Labradoodle âHankâ. The apartment offers our guests very private, spacious and well furnished living quarters. Thereâs a large covered patio thatâs outfitted with both dining and coffee tables, several comfortable seating options and a 3 burner gas grill for our guests exclusive use. The apartment itself reproduces the feeling of a luxury hotel suite. It includes a generously sized living room, with a full kitchen and dinning area along one wall and a romantic and efficient gas fireplace. The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need for gourmet cooking and a great dinning experience. Thereâs an extra large bedroom with a very comfortable king sized bed thatâs fitted with luxury linens and high quality pillows. Thereâs lots of closet and bureau space and plenty of hangers. The large full bath has a two sink vanity, an in tub shower and features thick cotton towels, high end soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer and other amenities. The apartment has high ceilings throughout and extra tall windows let in the light and provide great mountain views. All of the kitchen appliances are full sized and new. We provide both Keurig and drip coffee makers, K-cups, tea, sweeteners, chilled still and sparkling bottled water, a bottle of white wine, local craft beer, cookies and initial breakfast pastries. In addition to the guest apartmentâs own patio, there is a separate area of our upper deck exclusively for our guests use. It has two very comfortable chairs, a low table and, in the summer, a large adjustable sun umbrella. It's another perfect place to savor your morning coffee while enjoying our amazing mountain views or to just sit and read. Additional amenities include a commercial grade Wi-Fi connection and premium cable TV with HBO and Showtime, and the Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming services. All display on a 50â flat screen smart TV. The TV is on a mount that pulls away from the wall and swivels 90 degrees in both directions. We are surrounded by woods on all sides and are frequently visited by deer, wild turkeys, and other wild life. Many birds fill our surrounding trees. Tall mature trees tower over our home, giving the visual perspective of being in a remote tree house with superb mountain views.
Guest access: We provide a lockbox with keys for our guests but are almost always on site to great and brief them personally. PLEASE NOTE: our home is about 100 feet above street level and our driveway is very steep and narrow, with two sharp turns. The average grade of our driveway is 24 to 26 degrees but two short sections are 30+ degrees. At the top of our driveway, there is a very large parking and turn around area with a great view. Limit, two cars per reservation. Our spacious guest apartment is down an outside flight of stairs (15 steps), from the upper deck and parking level. Because we have two wonderful dogs of our own, we cannot accept reservations with pets. Our guests should feel free to walk anywhere on our steep property or to explore the adjacent wooded areas.
Interaction with guests: We are very respectful of your privacy but are available to answer your questions, offer advice or to help in any way. Jack and Robin are semiretired and we are hikers, bicyclists, skiers and both racing and cruising sailors. Before moving to Asheville we lived in Aspen, Colorado; Stowe, Vermont; San Francisco; New York City; Camden, Maine; Cambridge, Massachusetts; the South of France and Wilmington, North Carolina.
Other things to note: The street below our home has children, joggers, dog walkers and lots of wildlife transiting it. Please drive slowly, thanks. Our dogs Zelda and Hank are very friendly and quiet. They both enjoy attention from our guests, but wonât pester you.

The rental was truly a retreat with fantastic views, incredibly welcoming and accommodating hosts. I don't think anyone could ask anything more of their time in this location and I look forward to returning!
Our hosts were welcoming, friendly and responsive. It is abundantly clear that they have put in a great deal of care and thought into making sure that their guests have an enjoyable stay and that they have everything they might need during their stay. The interior decor is lovely and comfortable, and the view from the large patio is spectacular.
Our stay at Treetop Hideaway was superb. The place is clean and comfortable. Communication with owner was easy and all directions were extremely helpful. We hope to stay again when we visit Asheville.
Jack and Robin thought of everything to make us feel welcome and at home. From the moment I booked the rental, Jack reached out and provided valuable information about the rental and the area. The accommodations were spacious, clean and as described. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Asheville. We would book again.
From the moment we arrived at Treetop Hideaway we knew this was going to be a great place to stay for our week vacation. Jack and Robin thought of everything! Wonderful hosts!
Such a relaxing and peaceful spot tucked in the mountains. We had a beautiful patio to sit outside, well stocked kitchen, with wine, beer, coffee and even some delicious cookies! Beautiful, spacious bathroom and a very comfortable king size bed, with a large closet and a dresser with lots of drawers. We could really unpack and feel like home. To top it offâŠ. We were within 15-20 minutes of everything⊠Biltmore, downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, Grove Park Inn and The River Arts District. Donât hesitate to stay at this wonderful hideaway. You wonât be disappointed!
Thank you Jack, and Robin!
Well maintained property that is roomy for two. Close enough to all Asheville area attractions. Property owners easily accessible. Enjoyed the weather as it was cooler then ours in the Charlotte area which was are key reason for heading here. Good communication from owners about dining in the area.
Exceptional property and awesome hosts. The property has a very woodsy and private feel but just minutes to grocery stores, area restaurants etc. Throughly enjoyed our stay.
The hosts, Jack and Robbin are incredible: Their knowledge of the area and just about anything else was amazing. The driveway to the property was extremely steep and downright scary. Maybe I am just old, but my wife wouldn't even try to drive it. The apartment was modern and very well equipped and supplied, but was also cold and damp due to the lack of direct sunlight. Jack did get an electric space heater which helped solve the problem. Our time there was unusually rainy.
Nice place. Clean, very comfortable bed, host was helpful and provided nice extras like cookies and bottled water. Steep driveway but easy to manage. Would definitely stay here again.
11 out of 10. The best place to stay in the Asheville area
From the moment we booked the place, my wife and I felt that we are in the good hands. Jack, the owner, connected with us and provided all necessary details about the place, how to get there, and what to do while in Asheville. The house is immaculate, has everything for the stay, beautiful views, and, best of all, the fantastic hosts, Robin and Jack. Throughout our time there, we felt like in a paradise.
Big thanks! Hope to stay there again soon

The property was perfectly described and the hosts were extremely hospitable. We were greeted and shown all amenities. There are a number of streaming apps, a cozy fireplace, extremely comfortable bed and linens! The hosts thought of every convenience - wine, beer, sparkling and bottled waters, coffee pods/Keurig, travel toothbrushes, razors, shampoo/conditioner, soaps. No need to bring paper products - paper towels, toilet tissue, Kleenex, even charging cords, umbrellas and recycling offered. We enjoyed our stay and restaurant recommendations. We will definitely book again. Jack and Robin were the best hosts we have encountered!
This had to be one of our favorite short getaways. We had two full days at The Biltmore Estate and grounds, as well as a visit to Omni Grove Park Inn. Our stay at Jack and Robinâs home was a pure delight. It was so nice to come back to this very cozy and well accommodated lower level home at the end of our days. We actually looked forward to it! The description of this beautiful home is spot onâŠ..meticulously clean, very comfortable, well appointed, every detail thought of. Jack and Robin thought of everything. We would highly recommend this find to anyone and we are already telling our friends itâs a must do trip, and to stay here! Hoping to return here one day. Thank you Jack for also spending the time with us to share your stories, very interesting.
Excellent suite in a beautiful area.
Just a few minutes from Asheville, but feels cabin like.
Jack and Robin were awesome, and the rooms and deck
are spacious yet comfortable.
A+ all around!
My mom and I had such a nice stay. The space was perfect for us and we loved using the fireplace at night. I wish we couldâve stayed longer so that we couldâve taken more advantage of the patio and the view of the mountains. The proximity to Asheville was perfect and we found some great restaurants super close by. Jack greeted us when we arrived and gave us a quick tour of the space and was super responsive to texts. I also appreciated all of his restaurant and hiking recommendations. Thank you for a great stay!!
The wooded hillside location with its mountain view is serene; the property and its amenities exactly as advertised. It's an ideal base from which to enjoy the greater Ashville area. Jack and Robin are delightful. They expertly fulfill their roles as onsite hosts, ready to assist if needed, while respecting the privacy of their guests. We were there a full week and enjoyed visiting with and get to know them a bit which added to the pleasure of our stay.
We stayed for 4 nights in September & found the property easy to locate & very accessible to getting anywhere around Asheville. Itâs also close to downtown.
The apartment is definitely private with everything just as in the photos. Plenty of extra blankets, Pillows, decent kitchen, keurig & lovely patio overlooking the woods and distant mountains.
Jack & Robin are gracious hosts & we were happy to get to know them. And, proceeds from this rental go directly to helping fund research for autism, which has touched their family profoundly.
Thank you again Jack & Robin! We hope to see you again!
My husband and I planned a very last minute trip to Asheville and chose Jack and Robin's place based on the views and proximity to downtown. Jack was very communicative and answered all our questions quickly. The unit was extremely clean, well decorated, and even came stocked with some goodies and toiletries. We only wish we had more time to chat with them as they were very warm and interesting people. Definitely recommend!
The property was clean and inviting. The view off the deck was breath taking. Robin and Jack are the best host you could ever ask for! The dogs are adorable. I will recommend this spot to everyone. I will be back soon.
Jack and Robin (the hosts) have thought of everything in their VRBO... from seltzer waters to toothbrushes, they even left us a nice bottle of wine!
The driveway was a little intimidating upon the first approach, but by day 2 we were pros at it. And, it's worth every climb to see that beautiful view. We were fortunate enough to see a bear crossing the road right before the driveway.
We would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The place was very clean and had a lot of little extras (cookies, bottle of wine, sparkling water and coffee for example) The bed was very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the patio to drink our coffee and just enjoy the beautiful nature around us in the mornings and evenings. The location was perfect and just a short drive away from downtown Asheville. Jack was a wonderful host and gave so many appreciated recommendations for restaurants and hikes. We would definitely recommend to stay at this location!
It was an incredible experience, the cabin is in excellent condition and has a magnificent view full of nature.
Jack was a great host, he helped us a lot and was always very attentive even with the smallest detail.
I would definitely do it again.
If I could leave 10 stars, I would!!! Our stay was absolutely fabulous, Jack and Robin thought of it all! This was the first trip my husband and I have taken without our small children and it was the perfect place to relax and recharge.
The place itself was immaculately clean and adorably decorated. The bed was very comfortable and linens were soft as well as the bath towels! We really enjoyed the ambiance of the fireplace from the comfy couch. Sitting out on the patio sipping coffee while admiring the view, might have been my favorite part though! It was beautiful!
We did not do much as far as cooking, but the kitchen was well stocked for anything youâd like to make. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches such as the wine, beer, water, coffee, creamer, and cookies!
We also really enjoyed talking to Jack and Robin. They were so warm and welcoming, the best hosts weâve ever had! Canât wait to come back! Thank you!!!
