Awful customer service
First time I have written a negative review. Got downgraded to a room with a single bed because my original double bed room had faulty air conditioning (on the hottest day of the year so far) - room condition clearly was not checked before check-in. Total lack of communication afterwards - said they would call an engineer but did not give me any updates all night whether I could move back into my double room once the problem is fixed. The only call I had was to ask for the original room key back, and they asked me to go back down myself to reception from my hotel room to hand the key back asap, it felt rather insulting!
Did not sleep well at all due to room having a single bed rather than a double bed (which is what I booked and paid for).
Was not looking for big perks - but they did not offer any compensation or goodwill gesture at all for my poor experience. They only offered to ‘register me as an IHG member’ upon checkout - which would have been free for me to do online anyway!
Awful customer service experience overall and an uncomfortable stay.
Will not use again.
