Rustic studio cabin, nestled in the trees, under a mile to Mt. Rainier entrance.
Rustic, and unique studio cabin in a tree covered property along the Tenas Creek. Less than a mile to the only entrance that's open year-round of Mt Rainier NP. Park entry lines in the summer can get long, and your location gets you closer to the front. Spend your days exploring all that Rainier has to offer. Evenings can be enjoyed relaxing around the fire pit, cooking on the grill, or lounging on the hammock. A second cabin is located on the property and can be rented, if available, and more space is needed.
The cabin is less than a mile to the entry gate of Mt Rainier. The Park service has started requiring timed entry permits for entering the park from May 24th through September 2nd in 2024. You can get your permits on the Recreation dot gov website. Make sure you get your ticket for the Paradise corridor. If you don't get your permit, you can still enter the park before 7am, or after 3pm.
Ashford is a rural and remote community. The power grid and wi-fi can be affected by stormy weather conditions (especially in the winter). If the power and Wi-Fi go down, we encourage everyone to enjoy the disconnect time with family and friends and take advantage of the slow down. we have a wood burning fireplace for heat. We have lanterns and flashlights to play board games with.
Ashford can be snowy and icy at times and chains are required in your car when driving to paradise in the winter. Check with the National Park for conditions in the winter.

Cosy, clean, comfortable, lovely spot, (and tiny)
Brian and Amanda took such good care of us. Their cabin is tiny, but very well equipped, cosy, and welcoming, and in a pretty spot VERY close to Mt. Rainier NP. The Nisqually entrance is just up the road. The cabin's kitchen is well equipped, bed comfortable, and there were black tailed deer right out the window. Heating is both electrically, and with a well supplied, efficient wood stove. They were extremely responsive, and gave us excellent hiking advice, and we would definitely return. They also have a larger cabin for at least 4 available next door.

Read before staying!
Seriously. Read all of what this property offers before you stay. If I would've paid more attention we could've taken advantage of coming in earlier and making dinner there and having a fire etc. They even had a popcorn machine and such to take advantage of. It was incredibly easy to access directly off the road and was incredibly clean. They had everything there for us. Truly. This was a phenomenal experience

Love this Cabin!
When we first arrived we noticed it was really clean and quite. But theirs no cover anywhere except the car port and the bagoda located in the front of the property. No big deal but if its raining you just have to stay inside since we aren't able to use the carport or bagoda. The security system you use for the door is really simple and easy to use. When we first entered the cabin it did have an odd smell, the spices definitely need to be updated (old), the blankets had an odd smell, and some of the dishes had to be re-clened. Also since the inside fire place was not available, it was extremely cold the first night and took until the next day to get warm with the oil heater and wall heater. One major inconvenience was not having a stove and having to use a flat top burner for the pots and pans, causing it to take over an hour just to make any cooked meal. Also when using the toaster and hot top at the same time, it would trip the breaker. The WiFi connection was extremely poor for the phones and constantly would connect and disconnect. The bed is comfortable, but the frame is really really shaky. The TV had no problem and was nice to watch. The shower was amazing and had good water pressure and heat. We absolutely loved our stay at your property, we appreciate everything that had been provided to us he games inside the cabin, all the extra utensils, complementary popcorn, coffee, condiments, tea, towels provided, plenty of toiletry/papertowels, garbage bags. All amenities

Awesome!
I highly recommend this little cozy studio for spending time in love.
This cabin is the perfect place when visiting Mt.Rainier. Just a mile from the entrance and the cabin has everthing you will need. They even had snacks/water all condiments and even pancke mix and syrup. The yard was beautiful with a cute firepit to sit around at the end of the day. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful cabin.

Cozy thoughtful cabin just outside of Mt Rainier NP
Fir Cabin is small and rustic, perfect for one or two people. You walk up and might think it’s just a small cabin - but you open the door and it’s amazing. I could tell that Amanda and Brian have clearly put so much care into the place to make sure that the guests have the best experience they could.
Even before the stay started, they sent all the important information and made the arrival completely painless, and were quick to answer my minute questions. The kitchenette had all the essentials, even had popcorns and pancake flour with instructions (!!), the bathroom had fluffy and soft towels and toilet paper had a seal pressed on it.
I travel a lot and have stayed in many rentals - small and big, and in cities and the woods - and honestly this is probably one of the most thoughtful places I’ve had a pleasure of staying. It’s just a small wooden cabin, but it’s really the little things that matter when you are away from home.
