Greeted by cheerful receptionist at check-in who showed us to our room. Nice spacious car park but would prefer that we didn’t have to pay £10 for the overnight parking fee.

Nice break

Nice 2 night break, room was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals, good selection and reasonable prices. Helped that the weather was fantastic so we spent a bit of time in the very comfortable outdoor area😎

Clean, tidy and comfy

Second time in staying. Lovely quiet room. Comfy bed, plenty of room to move around the room. Bathroom was a little worn, but clean and certainly did not affect the visit. First time we have had food when staying there, and it did not disappoint. Huge portions and tasty. There was live entertainment on the evening we arrived and it was really easy listening whilst eating our food.

Portland Hotel

Very nice hotel with large bar/eating areas. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Room was great. Not much around in walking distance, but we were just passing through, so that was fine.

Hotel rooms at the back of a large traditional local stone public house. Very good standard of room. Easy to park car park of a good size. Bus stops directly outside the hotel. 15mins walk to town centre. Check-in though was too slow, using staff that were occupied at the bar. Staff very friendly when eventually the lady arrived. Check-out also suffered by using staff from the pub area, although early in the morning the wait was not long.

I stayed at the Portland Hotel for just one night & in the Lodge. The double room with en suite was immaculate & well presented. The kingsize bed was ever so comfortable. The amenities provided at the Portland Hotel for guest's are great. However i simply did not like the fact i did not have an electric shower in the bathroom. I wanted toilet roll & not what was provided by the Portland Hotel. Furthermore i did not appreciate the noise at The Portland Hotel. Finally i would not recommend The Portland Hotel & i would never choose to stay their again.

Amazing hotel

Such a lovely hotel, my room was massive and the bed was very comfortable! The staff were amazing too! Would definitely recommend and also look forward to staying here again next time I visit.

Been here quite a few time's really nice hotel/bar, staff are very friendly, Was in room 15 this time and was a little annoyed that there is just 1 plug socket in the whole room! and it was right over next to tv, And the fridge was plugged into 1 of them. but made do.
