As an Eco-friendly family who cares and loves nature which is evident from the landscaping of our gardens, we thrive on planting trees and plants, not only on our Estate also outside the boundaries of our estate in our neighborhood. We have planted around one hundred and ten eucalyptus trees in the surrounding area which we regularly water and fertilize using our own resources and these trees have already reached heights of seven to eight meters adding to the beauty of nature around us. These eucalyptus trees have already changed our neighborhood, adding color, life, and oxygen. I am planning to plant even more trees in the surrounding neighborhood to add to the beauty and create a self-sustaining and greener environment.

Already on our premises, there are nine hundred Leland cedars, some traditional Greek cypress trees, one hundred and ten Palma Canaries, sixty-five Washingtonians, sixty bird of paradise palms with beautiful flowers, twenty olive trees (providing our own olives and olive oil!), ten citrus trees and around thirty other fruit trees. We also plant fresh vegetables every season, which we grow biologically, and hope to share with our guests. We feel that this in some small way helps to give back to our environment that we love and cherish.

As a small town in a very popular seaside resort area, Anavissos does not have much wildlife, but there are many different species of birds in our area, and as we mentioned in the above paragraph about the many trees we have planted both inside and outside of our estate, the bird population in our neighborhood has greatly increased due to the sanctuary all these trees provide for them. There are some falcons and eagles that visit us from time to time, and as we are near the sea, there are also seagulls that are roaming the skies around us. In the past, we did save an injured falcon and with great joy were able to release it once again into the wild.

In the surrounding hills during nature hikes and mountain bike rides we have seen many foxes, rabbits, lizards, and other wildlife people do not have the opportunity to witness and enjoy in the wild any longer in most major cities. For the more adventurous types, the surrounding seas offer the most beautiful opportunities for snorkeling, with chances to see many varieties of marine wildlife. The ANNAVISSOS BEACH in a deep large bay with shallow waters for about the first 150 meters from the shore making it ideal for children to play safely and high waves are very rare on our beaches.

In the nearby seaside marina, there are the most popular seafood taverns, we personally visit on a regular basis and highly recommend to our future guests. Also, ten minutes away from us, one of the most famous archaeological sites in Greece, Cape Sounion, is home to the temple of Poseidon. After visiting this site, you can spend the day on a tranquil and Scenic beach at the foot of the hill it stands on, which has a lovely traditional seafood tavern on it. And watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the Agean sea.

A twenty-five-minute drive in the opposite direction, along a beautiful scenic route, you may visit the famous and most popular Glyfada square, known for its shopping centers, coffee shops, grill taverns, and nightlife. Finally, only forty-five minutes from us you can visit the center of Athens, AND the famous Acropolis, the Plaka.
