The Plaka Hotel is right in the middle of all the hot spots north of the Acropolis. There is tons of ruins to see, museums, and restaurants. The area is even active after night, so you will hear music but it dies down after about 11 pm. The rooms are fairly small and you can hear your neighbors easily. Just a typical small European hotel in the heart of the Plaka district of Athens. I enjoyed my stay.

Great Location
Posted Jan. 31, 2024 on HotelsThe staff where friendly and helpful. Quick no fuss check-in. Room requests ignored though. Our room could have been better, you could hear all the street noise below (4th floor, city view) our balcony couldn't be used as it had x2 air con units and a massive plant on it. The church bells also went off every hour so woke us up early. Our bath was broke, shower leaked, fridge had clearly leaked as the surrounding areas were badly water damaged, overall the room was run down but spacious. Wifi great. It was enough because of the location but if you want nice or luxury, this isnt for you.
Breakfast, enough food and great choice but there is not enough tables for the guests. So you may have to wait for a seat.
Location, the reason we picked here with the price we paid as well. AMAZING. you can walk to EVERYTHING. 5mins to the station (airport metro) furthest sight seeing was the stadium 22min walk. Everything else 5-10mins. TGIFs and Starbucks 2min walk. Loads to eat places on the door step, supermarket next door. It is scruffy with graffiti and alot of homeless. Loads of shops near by, local nik nack shops, and main zara/H&M etc shops but they are repeated and staff jump on you like flys and then may as well link your arm as you walk around looking at anything.
Bottom line - Good for a short city break to see the sights and have a bed and shower.

Nice hotel in the heart of everything Plako ! Live the friendly staff and professionalism they show ! Room walls are thin you can hear everything your neighbors are saying! Breakfast was free and great variety! Beautiful hotel ! Live my stay and will be back !

Two out of my 4 nights stay were excellent. Unfortunately, I had a group of American girls staying in the rooms around me who were obnoxiously rude and inconsiderate of the other guests on the floor. They checked in quite late and thought it was ok to be loud for a couple of hours. I called reception and was told that they have just arrived and they will settle soon. Couldn’t believe that was the response I received. The next morning at breakfast, the lady who comes around to ask the guests if everything was okay with your stay , was informed about those noisy guests . Obviously nothing was done about it because my last night there I had to make 2 calls for reception to get them to keep the noise down. I was literally listening to the conversation the 2 girls were having next door to me . The hotel should have addressed my concerns that morning when I advised the staff member at breakfast. I did say something to them as I checked out . The male staff did address the problem when I called and I thank him for doing this .
Overall, the hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to everything . I had a room with a view of the Acropolis. No self serve laundry facilities but there is a laundromat 3 minutes walk around the corner that will cost you £ 5 . Hotel was going to charge £15 . There’s a small supermarket around the corner so you can stock up on water and drinks and put them in the bar fridge . Breakfast was nice . Staff kept everything clean. Nice variety on offer.

Great hotel, close to most of main attractions.

Posted Dec. 11, 2023 on HotelsWe had a lovely stay at the Plaka Hotel. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. If I was going to Athens again I would definitely stay at the Hotel Plaka. Perfect.
