Crystal coast may have some of the best beach access and best values in Emerald Isle, but what really elevated this stay to the next level was the above-and-beyond customer service that this incredible staff went through for us. After a lovely stay, my daughter accidentally left behind a precious stuffed animal that she'd slept with since she was an infant. When it became clear that we'd arrived in Virginia without it, we called the hotel, and their response was incredible. A multi-day search ensued as people from the front desk, housekeeping, and management coordinated to leave no stone unturned. And when, miraculously, they found Bunny, they shipped it across the country for us without asking for an extra dime. I worked in the hotel industry for 15 years, and I know that some environments really do foster a culture of hospitality, and that some...don't. Crystal Coast Oceanfront will not only give you a nice room with direct access to the beach and proximity to great shopping and dining...they'll treat you like an honored guest with sincerity and compassion. 10/10, would visit again!

The staff was nice & accomodating. The lobby / restaurant was nicely decorated. A few cons for me...They only offered a breakfast buffet. The sheets were nubby & seemingly low quality. The showers are tiny, have visible mold on the walls, and in serious need of an update! The pool area was small but comfortable. Overall, the area is nice & being oceanfront is definitely a bonus but I would not stay here again. Oh, they also charged my card twice by accident. However, as soon as I caught it, they refunded me.

Great view but physical property did not measure up to advertisement. Bathroom was too small and shower partition was too small. Room did not have proper ventilation and water dripped from the ceiling. Snacks were over priced.

This hotel is okay, the safe was nice most of them some of them not so much. Probably wouldn’t come back. The shower in the room was really nasty with a lot of lime scale build up. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable, and honestly kinda felt dirty.

I did not like upon check out an additional parking fee was added for parking at the Crystal Coast Inn where we stayed. Expedia nor the Motel informed us there is an additional charge of $20. Per night for parking!

Not what it used to be

This place has gone so far downhill, it's sad. We loved it when it was the Clam Digger and also when it was Pine Knoll Shores Inn. It's definitely not the same and has lost a lot of the "family feel" that it once had. The restaurant and tiki bar are now separate from the hotel and both are awful, and the pool and hot tub need a lot of work. The hotel nickels and dimes its guests, and is not straightforward about any of the changes that will affect their experience. You have to figure things out on your own, after the fact. If you want breakfast, go up the street to one of the several other restaurants and steer clear of the hotel restaurant. They're not serving anything that's on the menu and won't tell you that until youve already sat down and ordered drinks. The food that is on the menu is not even in the building. Instead, they'll charge you almost $50 for two people to eat from what they call a "buffet." There's barely anything in the "buffet," and what is there is cold and stuck to the pans. This was our favorite place for almost 13 years. We will never go back.

Overall good experience. Very convenient location. The only downfall we encountered are the rooms aren't very big, but enough for no more than what you are in them. But the bathrooms are very small and not convenient for bigger people. Would stay again.

We stay here all the time it’s my favorite place. This time around the only two things that didn’t make me happy were being charged to park our car every night, $20 a night. We were there for 3 nights, very disappointed in this. The other thing that i didn’t like was, the room was not that clean. Sand on the floor, it’s supposed to be cleaned after every stay so there shouldn’t be sand on the floor.
