The hotel was very clean and the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room had no air conditioning and no TV which was a bit of a bummer. There's a restaurant right across the street that was delicious. It's very close to Flam
Our room had a view of the fjord. On a wet cold night It was warm and comfortable. It is a small old hotel so not all modern facilities but fits with the surroundings and the expectation of the area. Our meal in the restaurant was very good and the service was excellent. Friendly happy people.
This hotel was so quaint and beautiful. I had the best sleep of my vacation here, as the bed was so comfortable. Great area, where you can easily walk to the water and take in the fjords. We took a bus from Flam for 100 NOK each. Would highly recommended staying here. Excellent breakfast too. We also took a taxi up to the stegastein view point for $1,500 NOK from this hotel. Well worth it to not have to take in the view with a large group on a tour bus.
We were there before checkin. Came back and waited on deck. She placed most people before us into rooms. We were placed on the top floor 4. No elevator and no one offered to help with our bags. I am 60 ,husband 68. I was just surprised we had a top room and no help. Nice room.
Incredibly rude staff, we found ticks and spider in the room and there was no intercom service in the room so we had to deal with all these pests on our own.

Strongly Discourage Staying in Aurland
The train in Oslo broke down and I called them to let them know we could not show due to a Norwegian train debacle. They said so sad, but we will still charge you full price. Not compassionate people. I don’t recommend them for future business.
For the amt of money we paid, $500 usd/night, it was nothing but a motel room with great view of the fjord. So dont expect anything nice or the 4 stars as rated. The girl at front desk was less enthusiastic and doesnt care much. The only thing good abt this hotel is the view, and that abt it! The serene, mysterious of the fjord when we were there w the gloomy weather make it wven more beautiful.
Something i we dont get to see everyday. Room doesnt even have a tv or phone!
So come if you really really have no other choice, but the taxi driver flat out told me, they have to rake up everything in the summer to make up for their winter months.
A day trip here is enough, so you can avoid this ridiculous room rate in the summer months
The view from the room is beautiful and our room had a great balcony. However for the price I would have expected higher end bedding and amenities. In my opinion this hotel is no worth the price. The downtown is walkable from the location and parking is conveniently on-site.
It is located in a small town near Flam. It’s a laid back town with not very people, but the views are spectacular. They had breakfast included which was nice. It’s a very popular hotel and we loved sitting outside and dining.
Great hotel, bit pricy but worth the location, only issue is the parking in the front is a bit limited and didn’t seem restricted to hotel guests only, so it’s hit or miss on finding parking.
