Daily Reflection: Dog-Friendly, Waterfront, sunset views

Find ever-present fun and sun at Daily Refelction, a soundfront retreat situated at the end of a canal, where you'll have amazing views of the sun setting over the glassy Pamlico Sound.

Located in Avon, this three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom cottage comes packed with amenities and value, making it the perfect getaway for your small family or group. There's a fenced yard for your dogs, a fish-cleaning table, an outdoor shower, charcoal grill and a shallow private dock. Take advantage of the direct launching access for windsurfing and kayaking adventures. Daily also boasts two furnished sundecks - one on the bedroom level and a larger one on the top floor that overlooks the dock and the canal.

The first bedroom has two single beds and a TV, while the second has a queen bed and a TV of its own. A full bathroom sits across the hall. The third bedroom is a primary bedroom with a queen bed, a TV, and a full bathroom. Also on this floor is an intimate sunroom with a card table, a TV, a DVD player, a daybed, and the same gorgeous views straight down the canal into the Pamlico Sound.

Moving upstairs, the kitchen, dining room, and family room await. A half-bath is also located on this level. Sliding glass doors to the sundeck and tall windows allow natural sunlight to illuminate this area. Whether you're preparing your next meal or kicking back watching TV, the amazing view never fades from this vantage point.

We had a great time staying here. Family time is the best time. Loved the view from the upper deck. We would hang out there every morning and evening. The views were amazing! Loved the little gated doggy park. Wish we could have had access to the kayaks

Weekly Reflection

Fantastic location with amazing sunsets on the sound. Sun does get intense late afternoon so curtains in the great room would be a big help. Lots of kitchen items, beds comfortable, furniture is a bit old but ok. Dishwasher needs fixing or replaced. So all in all a fine house for us which could use a few upgrades. We will most likely rent it again.

Can't Beat the Views

The views from the living area at this home could not be beat. Absolutely gorgeous. I saw that some people had complained about the stains on the carpets but that didn't bother us. We were too busy looking out the window or paddling out to the sound.

Fantastic home away from home

Just what we needed in Hatteras- well thought out house lay out- perfect view from the whole second floor.. and comfortable bed. What more do you need on Vacation? Mother nature supplies the rest! great outdoor shower and well supplied kitchen without being too fancy.. I don't need fancy on Hatteras! I think that covers it. Thanks so much to the Daily family for sharing their summer place with us!

Really good, but could be great

We absolutely loved the location! Being sound front and able to fish and kayak out back was the best! The house is set up nice, but the furniture is literally falling apart in the living room/kitchen area. We had to sit w caution afraid we were going to break something as it's all on its last leg. The drains in both showers are so clogged that you have to wade in about 6" of water during a shower. We gave it 4 stars because of ease of rental and location. Just update a few things for safety and hygiene and it would be an amazing house!

Great location

Great location. Beautiful views. Kitchen well equipped. The only real downside, and this is a fairly big issue, is that ALL furnishings are due for an upgrade. Kitchen table not tall enough for the chairs provided and a little shaky. A complete mismatch of furnishings throughout the house. One of the bedframes so shaky, we thought it might collapse. With the income this house is bringing in, there is no reason for the lack of quality furnishings. Almost gave it three stars because of this.
