Everything was great at first, then about 15 minutes of me arriving to my room, a baby started crying in a nearby room for about 45 minutes straight and a toddler was running through the halls laughing and yelling off and on during the crying. I smelled a chemical smell upon arrival in hallway and in my room, similar to raid or bug spray and as time when on my throat was getting more and more sore. I ended up wearing a mask to bed because I found I couldn’t sleep due to my throat being irritated. Everything else was absolutely lovely and clean. Perhaps in the future families with small children could be put in a certain area of hotel, it was awful. I still can’t get over the chemical smell and my irritated throat, I hope it doesn’t ruin the rest of my weekend that has been planned for several months now. I’m very disappointed with my stay because of this. Staff was so polite and hotel looked fantastic and so clean.

Bathroom needed a deep cleaning! Hair stuck to the ceiling, hair in the tub, dust everywhere. The bed had a giant dip which meant I slept in a ravine all night. Yuk. The staff was borderline rude (Elizabeth) and uninterested in assisting when I asked questions regarding my bill and especially when the FIRE ALARM went off at 10:00 PM at night and sounded for 40 minutes. The front desk girl was not assisting guests with information, she said “It does this sometimes” and “It will reset eventually” . Meanwhile all the guests are outside the building trying to figure out what to do. The fire department came and reset the alarm. Way too much nighttime drama. There are lots more choices in Bakersfield for my next visit and we won’t be returning to this property.

I actually picked this hotel, because of all the good reviews and having an indoor pool. The pool was not inviting. We thought it was awesome that they had an indoor pool but not even the kids wanted to get in. Rooms were a little dirty beds were terrible. We didn’t have a good night. Sleep. Our room. Smells like smoke.. We will definitely not go back.
