It was one of the cheapest options to book in Banff a week before the trip. It’s a little run down, but it is coming to the end of high season, so that’s fine. And really you do get what you pay for. Plus it was probably the only option with two beds for less than $700/night. I forgot how busy Banff gets during the summer.

The hotel needs to upgrade as it is so old fashioned. The carpets are all ancient and bathroom is old fashioned. Incidentally on the same dates, I wanted to book a room for my cousin and his wife but as it was all full, I finally booked a room in Red Carpet Inn which was just adjacent . I was surprised to discover that they got a much better room with an updated bathroom and which has a great view facing the mountains with a cozy spacious balcony with chairs! Where as the one I booked for my own family which was supposed to be a level above theirs as it was a superior 2 bedrooms suites was actually a let down for me. The balcony was very tight and narrow which only gave us a side angle view of the mountain in the corner and it was facing another hotel just adjacent to it. The price I paid for it wasn’t worth at all! I was charged higher per night for Irwin than for the Red Carpet Inn!

The hotel is a little older, but it was clean and the location is convenient. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk and had to wait a while which was strange. Parking is also lacking if you drive anything that doesn't fit in the low underground parkade. Overall reasonably priced, clean and convenient.

Refund waiting

Still waiting on my refund for one of the rooms. It was disgusting. Stains all over the floor. Carpet ripped up. Huge gap at bottom of room door that we stuffed towels in it. Laundry machines were not cleaned out and had so much long and old soap caked in the machines.
