The Three Bears Cabin is extremely comfortable with all the amenities from home and everything you need for a great vacation. You'll love this cabin!
The home was clean however the property was not. Automated host msg was nice with instructions for check in and out. The cabin was a nice size. The game room was not a âroomâ itâs at the top of the stairs with not much room to use the foosball table. There was not a Mountain View and I imagine once the leaves come back it would be even harder to see. We were also disappointed in the amount of privacy the cabin lacked. The beds were nice and the hot tub was an awesome addition the family loved.
Stayed for one night. Just after arriving a beautiful deer walked in front of the house and hung out by the car for a few. Really cool sight. House itself is beautifully maintained/clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and using the firepit to make smores. Played with the foosball table and watched TV. Plenty of room for our family of 3 (plus 2 dogs). Pet friendly. Secluded location but still close to restaurants/shops. We visited the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, which is only 15 min away. I would recommend, if possible, to get errands done before dark, however. There are a lot of turns to get to the house.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this cozy cabin in the woods, and it was everything I hoped forâand more. Nestled deep in nature, the cabin offered the perfect escape from the chaos of daily life. The surrounding forest was quiet, serene, and filled with the sounds of birds and rustling leaves, which made every morning feel like something out of a movie. The cabin itself was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully furnished. From the crackling fireplace to the comfortable beds and rustic charm, it felt like home the moment we walked in. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we enjoyed cooking meals while gazing out at the trees. We especially loved the porchâit was the perfect spot to sip coffee in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening. There were also plenty of trails nearby for hiking and exploring, and we even saw a few deer during our stay. At night, the sky was filled with starsâtruly breathtaking. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat to reconnect with nature, this cabin is perfect. We left feeling refreshed, recharged, and already planning our next trip back.
We enjoyed our stay at Three Bears Cabin. The house was fully stocked with everything you need. Check in process was easy. Our only complaint was having to take our trash with us. This was the first rental we have had to do that and it was not convenient in the least. The drop stations are 25 minutes away. Beds are comfy and the porch and firepit area were a nice place to relax. We all enjoyed ourselves and we would recommend this place for Banner Elk visitors.
This property was exactly as listed, and the host was very responsive even with the smallest thing. The fireplace went out during our stay, and they had a repairman out within an hour. Not necessary, but certainly appreciated! Close to hiking and downtown, but secluded too. Very well stocked bathrooms and kitchen. I would recommend
We enjoyed our stay and the host was great, responsive, and kind. The cabin was perfect, homey, great jacuzzi. We wished there were TVs in all the bedrooms but that would have been our only personal drawback. Would totally stay there again.
Cute cabin that was extremely clean! Snacks were waiting for us upon arrival which was very thoughtful. Check in/out process was very easy! Fireplace worked great! Would recommend dish towels in the kitchen as we felt we were being wasteful using so many paper towels. King bed in master bedroom upstairs is very high off the ground - had to use bed frame to climb into bed so would just keep in mind if someone has knee issues. Would also recommend drop down shades for main living space - beautiful windows throughout the main floor however felt a little exposed at night.
Cozy property. Not in town but not too far away either.
Was good size for a family of 4 but had plenty of room for more people.
Had all the necessary amenities.
Pro's: The cabin location is great, we have stayed in 4 other homes on the same street before this trip and are familiar with the area. The host was very responsive and easy to work with. No problems checking in or checking out. The cabin seemed clean.
Con's: The description is misleading, based on previous rental experiences, we may have had higher expectations - but it's all relative. The cabin was very basic to the point it seemed bare. Seems more like a college student's apartment than a vacation rental.
This cabin benefits from the price points of other more furnished, well-equipped rentals nearby. The description mentioned it is well stocked, but it is not. It offers limited seating and furnishings, lacks basic dinnerware, dishes, cookware, and the appliances were all cheap rental grade (the dishwasher falls out of the cabinet). Most of the smoke detectors are missing batteries. There is too much scented fabric softener being used in the bedding - not good for those with allergies. Don't look at the pillows inside the pillowcases until you are leaving (bring a pillow). The kid's games are broken or missing pieces (noticed this in other reviews before visiting).
If you are looking for a cozy mountain cabin, this is not it. Overdue for basic maintenance and attention.
PS: You may need a 4-wheel drive vehicle. A very steep driveway may limit access in snowy or icy conditions.
If VRBO offered a Section 8 equivalent for rentals, this would fall in that category.
Very nice property very clean and well equipped the hot tub was great and clean. The property host was great got back to us right away if we reached out to him.
5 Stars
Great mountain getaway in the trees. We really enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and sitting by the fire pit and hot tub was a nice way to end each day. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was very clean. One thing I would recommend is updating the couch. It was very uncomfortable. We had to put pillows under the cushions because of the huge gap. It was impossible to sit on without the extra support and then was still not very comfortable. We spent most of our time outside so it wasn't too much of an inconvenience but did make it uncomfortable when we tried to have a movie night.
Based off the listing I expected the cabin to have a view, games the kids could play, and comfortable couches. This cabin has no view during the summer and the games were all missing pieces so really there are no games that you can play. The fooseball table is listed as being a 10 in 1 game but it again is missing parts so itâs just a fooseball table. The couches are dated and you sink into a hole weâre the metal digs into your back due to it being a dated pull out couch. When you flush the toilet on the second floor it smelled like sewage. The drying machine didnât work and it took over 7 hours to dry a load. Then the owner tried to have a new dryer delivered on the second day of our stay and expected us to wait around to let lowes deliver. This listing is not accurate and is misleading.
We were in town for a wedding, but we spent a lot of time playing in the area as well. We enjoyed the mountain coaster, Tweetsie Railroad, and a ropes course. This home is close to a lot of fun activities! The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the different options for movies/TV. The hot tub was great to have as well. As camp cook, I appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. Thank you for a great stay!
This location was the perfect basecamp for relaxing and spending time with my parents, husband, and three-year-old daughter. My husband and I took the upstairs room and our daughters pack-and-play fit in the closet, she loved it and thought it was so cozy. The king size bed was beautiful, and we slept so well while we were there. Just outside of the bedroom was a little landing where my daughter enjoyed playing.
We all enjoyed the indoor and outdoor living spaces. The living room was comfortable and charming and we loved the gas fireplace that came on with the flip of a switch. We also cooked all of our meals in the cabin and liked the convenience of not having to go out. The side patio had a hot tub and fire pit that we enjoyed.
Two of our favorite outings were snow tubing at Sugar Mountain Resort and gem mining at Sugar Creek Gem Mine, both of these places were only a fifteen minute drive down the hill from the cabin.
The feeling I got in the cabin was very welcome and at home. I messaged the owner once with a question and he responded right away. If you choose to stay here, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Property was great from everything from the actual cabin to its location. Literally 3 minutes from downtown Banner Elk. We stayed the week of Christmas '22 and the property provided all the holiday vibes. Got snowed in the very first day and it only added to the propertys grandeur. All aspects of the property(appliances and amenities) were operational and up to date. Had some personal set backs the morning of check in and the host was more than professional and accommodating. Very pleased with the entire process and stay. Highly recommend.
