Classic Log Cabin w/ Secluded Mountain Views!

This one-of-a-kind, custom-built, cedar log cabin is a three-level structure that features bright, warm-toned furnishings and dĂ©cor. Make the most of miles and miles of unobstructed mountain views from the expansive deck, and enjoy private high-speed internet. The cabin has three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a loft. There is a Queen-sized bed in the master bedroom along with a 40” Smart TV. The second bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, a 43” Smart TV, and a DVD player. The third bedroom offers a Queen Natuzzi sleeper sofa. Relax under a 25’ vaulted ceiling by the stacked-stone gas fireplace and enjoy the 43” Smart TV, Blu-ray, and stereo. The equipped, designer kitchen includes high-end granite countertops, custom cabinetry, and a variety of appliances. The unit provides a washer and dryer for laundry. This cabin does offer A/C during the warm summer months. You are only a short drive away from shopping, restaurants, skiing, hiking, rafting, horseback riding, and everything else that the mountains have to offer. Flat and easy access will be just off the road with no hassle parking. Non-smoking. No pets allowed. No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests are required to sign their rental agreement within 7 days of booking.

The house, accommodations and view were beautiful! We would enjoy this house on another future visit. I gave the lower rating as its misleading to call it a 3 bedroom when in fact the 3 bedroom is the laundry room with a sofa bed.

Absolute Gem!

We truly enjoyed our stay here. We made a last-minute decision to head to the mountains and were lucky enough to find this perfect spot just minutes to Sugar Mountain Resort. The cabin is adorable and had everything we needed (except laundry detergent! :) ) After hours Check-in and out were very easy. Had no issues at all. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Mountain Getaway

The cabin was beautiful, cozy, and comfortable with perfect touches that make you feel at home in the mountains (fantastic view, fire pit, well stocked kitchen). It was what we'd hoped for and more! Only complaint was that booking through VRBO incurred an extra fee for us since a resort rental company manages this property to renters.

Great cabin that is easy to get to and close to Sugar Mountain

We spent Thanksgiving week here and were quite comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed, including a platter. We were able to relax at the cabin and then quickly get to the areas attractions. The cabin has great porches to sit outside and enjoy the views. We got to see a couple of deer in the yard too.

We stayed at the cabin for 4 nights close location to banner Elk, Boone and blowing rock. Cabin very clean well equip and most important has comfy beds. Our stay was during fall foliage so most of our time was spent hiking and checking out the local wineries all within a 20 minute drive. Ed Raleigh NC

Fest Weekend

My husband and I wanted a nice place to rent when we attended the Sugar Mountain Oktoberfest. This cozy cabin was close to the venue. The view was excellent from the deck. We enjoyed swinging and looking out across the valley as the clouds moved through. The cabin was very clean and neat and we look forward to renting this cabin again.

Great place to stay

The house was comfortable and had all of the necessities for cooking at home. The house was tidy and ready for our stat. The internet was able to support remote work with reliable service and solid speeds. The views were the icing on the cake and we spent the vast majority of our time hanging out on the deck admiring the scenery. Highly recommend and would come back again.

The good, the bad and the ugly...

The good: a small, clean cabin with a very nice deck and a great view. The bad: the cabin does not have A/C, granted they don't say that it does and when you look at the VRBO listing and look at amenities, it does not mention A/C. That being said, I would suggest putting this into the description. Yes, my fault for not looking at the amenities section but I was shocked to see a modern cabin, with most conveniences but no A/C. So sugar mountain is cooler than other parts of the area and A/C is not hugely important BUT... the cabin gets EXTREMELY damp, the carpet and bedding downstairs were damp. If it had A/C it would dry it out. We called the after-hours number as soon as we checked in and the response we got is below. The Ugly: We are veteran renters and have been in many cabins, and have dealt with many owners and management companies, upon calling the after-hours number, and letting the guy know about the dampness, honesty he couldn't be bothered... just really seemed not to care, almost seemed annoyed by the call. He did say he "might come by" to look into it. The next day we went sightseeing and came back to a note on the door, from the guy... The note basically said that he checked out the carpet and it was cool to the touch because it's on a slab and not wet. Wrong dude, I know the difference between cool and damp. IT'S DAMP, including on the stairs which are wood under the carpet. But nice try. The dampness is the same as it is after you've had your carpets shampooed. Okay, so complete lack of customer service there. Next, later that day I stopped by the management office to arrange for a late checkout and to tell them about the dampness. There were two ladies there, one on the phone the other greeted me. I asked about extended checkout and told her about the dampness... she said, "yea some of our cabins probably could use a dehumidifier " and that was that. No care at all. I told her that it was very uncomfortable, and she didn't bat an eye. As I was getting ready to walk out, the second lady finished her call. Turned to the other lady and in a negative, very annoyed tone started discussing the stupid questions the customer on the call was asking. Just wow! These people have NO CARE for their guests. NONE. Finally, the cabin is not a three-bedroom, it's a two-bedroom with a small pullout stuck into a laundry room.

Great location, cozy home!

Cozy, clean, comfortable home! The check-in process was easy but you do have to check in and check out in person as opposed to having a keyless entry system. Great location for access to Sugar Mountain and the grocery store (Food Lion). We slept three adults, one teenager, and two toddlers comfortably and loved the gas fireplace! Note that the roads are steep and very twisty - we didn't have a lot of snow when we were there but I can imagine you'd really need 4WD to safely navigate if there's snow.

Amazing view, close to everything, great cabin!

We had a really fun time in this cabin. The sledding hill was a lot of fun for our 10, 12, and 13 year old kids. The cabin has many unique spaces, which appear to have evolved from investments/additions made over the years by the owners. It’s really perfect in many ways - we loved the storage/office room off the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped. A few areas for improvement - the trash can is larger than the provided 13 gal. Trash bag liners for a possibly 20 gallon trash receptacle. Also, we ran out of hot water after 2 people showered so stagger showers. Overall, the many benefits outweighed the small challenges. Once again, the views are amazing as is the cabin’s proximity to Sugar and Beech.
