SugarTop Resort - Indoor Pool & Hot Tubs --Money Saver-- Sugar Mountain, NC

SugarTop Resort - centrally located in The High Country is a guard gated community with round-the-clock security, and a 24-hour front desk staff. Resort lobby has a library for reading or games. Resort has a mini Pantry in main Lobby and a Café/Pub onsite (seasonal). Indoor Pool, 2 Hot tubs, Sauna, Steam Bath, Fitness Center, Men's and Ladies Locker Rooms with personal showers. Common outside areas include lower level community sundeck, picnic tables and outdoor grills. Google search Sugartop Resort for more Resort information. Our 2BR and 2BA Condo is located Slopeside on the 1st Floor of residential units (fist in, first out!), closest to the elevator, lobby, pool and parking. Unit is a little "dated" and "used" but clean and cozy so enjoy our lower rates. We love our little escape and hope you will too. Fully furnished with linens and bedding included. Open floor plan, w/wood burning fireplace in spacious living room and wet bar. The beautiful scenery is viewable from nearly every room. Master BR has king size bed and Guest BR has a queen bed. There is also a Queen size electric blow-up mattresses if needed. Both bathrooms have showers and tubs. Private outside balcony positioned directly above pool rooftop with a view of ski slopes and sunsets. Laundry room w/full size washer and dryer. There are books, board games, DVDs, XBOX 360, dedicated Wi-Fi and cable TV for your enjoyment. Complimentary shuttle service to and from parking lots for all guests. During ski season no need to drive to the ski resort as Ski Sugar offers free shuttle bus service from SugarTop Resort to Sugar Mountain Ski Resort during weekends (peak season) and holidays. Sorry, no pets are permitted due to HOA policy. This is a SMOKE FREE unit. Each condo is individually owned.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

***NOTE: Sugar Top Resort condos do not have air conditioning. Average summer temperatures are high 75 and low 55 degrees. During snow and ice it is required to have 4 wheel drive/AWD vehicle or snow tires and chains for access to the Resort.***

Activities include skiing, snow tubing, Wilderness Alpine Mountain Coaster, golfing, biking, swimming, hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, zip-lining, gem mining, rafting or just relaxing in the mountains. Nearby sites include Grandfather Mountain, Banner Elk, Lineville Falls/Caverns, Boone, Blowing Rock, Lees-McRae College and Appalachian State University, Tweetsie Railroad, Overlook Barn, Beech Mountain and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway. The condo was great and the view was fantastic when you aren’t out and about with all there is to do in the area. The Host was great to communicate with and the unit has all you need to feel at home. Mike also made an excellent recommendation for a special dinner and Stonewalls was spot on with excellent food and service. My wife and I will be back.

We had a wonderful stay in this very cozy room—thank the host for sharing such a lovely space. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you might need, including flour, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, plastic wrap, foil, and pots in various sizes. Having a washer and dryer in the unit, along with laundry detergent, was incredibly convenient, and the trash chute being on the same floor made things even easier.Although the unit is on the first floor, the view is absolutely gorgeous since the entire apartment sits at the top of Sugar Mountain. From the porch, you can watch skiers and lift. Besides, the sunset views are truly spectacular.Before arriving, I was a bit concerned about parking, as cars need to be parked in the lower lot and guests rely on the shuttle to reach the apartment. However, during our stay— even during the Christmas period—the shuttle service was very frequent and efficient, with an average wait time of only about one to two minutes. It turned out to be extremely convenient.The apartment also has many games, books, and board games, which were perfect for keeping the kids entertained. I would highly recommend this place to friends and would definitely love to stay here again.

The resort and staff were phenomenal. The room was dirty and the pictures made it look like the view was beautiful. In fact you are on the 1st floor with a balcony view of the a/c unit or big metal box. Couch was old and very uncomfortable. The rugs were filthy. We left after the first night. Again resort was phenomenal, room was not.

My review

The condo was very nice. Was stocked very well. Do need a least one sharp knife. Picked a loaf of bread. Without realizing it wasn’t sliced. Only a butter knife. The only negative thing I would say. Is that the pictures that you provided. Never shows that your balcony opens up to a roof. Kind of kills the view.

Wonderful place to stay in the summer. Flowers are blooming everywhere and the cooler temps are a delight. The kitchen has great tools to cook elaborate meals. We loved our weeks stay!!

Disingenuous

I found out the property has no air conditioning by entering the condo when it was 88. Inside. Completely disingenuous right from the outset. Several dozen college age men pushed us out of the pool so we couldn't enjoy it Wednesday. Then, after dinner Thursday about 7pm, we were informed we couldn't park in the empty parking lot beside the building anymore. We left before I got upset and got back around 2am. Thanks for nothing. Terrible place.

Best deal at the resort!

We loved it here! The place was great for a family of 5. The air mattress came in handy. You’re only about a 5 minute drive from the slopes and 8-10 minute drive from downtown banner elk! I highly recommend bellas italian restaurant, tubing and Highland Ski rentals! Micheal was easy to work with and answered all of our questions promptly.

Nice place. Location and parking is not ideal

Nice place but you have to use a shuttle to get in and out of the building. The shuttles run very frequently but if you are planning to go back and forth from the mountain more than once it becomes a hassle. If you're planning to leave for the day and not come back until the evening it's great.

The apartment was just as described and it worked perfect for our family of 4. The view of the slopes is super nice and we didn't have issues with the shuttle at all. It actually was pretty fast to get up or down to the parking lot. The pool, sauna, hot tub were perfect for the after activities to relax and unwind. Perfect ski weekend!!!!

Just as advertised, nice unit
