Had trouble findings the office, but once I spoke with Brian (front desk) he was very helpful in helping me get into my room. The room was very clean and staff was helpful also.

Location is good, the property is accessible to restaurants and public transports. Staff upon check- in was nice. Room was clean but there was no shampoo, conditioner and soap provided which was really disappointing! We booked for a double occupancy room for couple and we preferred a double or queen bed. They provided 2 twin beds that are beside each other. Beds were very uncomfortable and there were no comforters provided. Which is another let down.

I did t like that you had to check in 6 blocks away. Thats should be stated. I had to walk with my family's languages and mine after checking in 6 blocks away in the heat.

Dislike: Very inconvenient check in process, the area of the actual place you stay at is a 10 minute walk from the check in. I did the check in online but they still wanted to the documentation there as well. The thick sheets were dirty and there was no windows in the room. Also, there was no shampoo/conditioner and the body wash given was in very small packets when our stay was three nights. Be warned, there is no staff on site. Like: Area of the hotel was good and not noisy. Aside from the sheets, the room itself was clean. Also, close walking distance to all the touristy stuff too.

This is a hostel. Not a hotel. Not what I believed I booked based on what I read. The blankets had stains, blood included and was disgusting. I’m glad I only paid for two nights. Only thing good was I liked the location.

Es un buen lugar y bien ubicado para turismo y para compras pues muy cerca hay almacenes de outlet. Esta limpio y tranquilo. La experiencia de Check in podría mejorar. Me explico: Llegamos tarde y pudimos hacer un check in preliminar vía web, eso estuvo muy bien. Al siguiente día nos tocó ir a un lugar como a 400 metros a hacer el Check in y pagar un seguro. Ya en el edificio del Check in fue difícil encontrar el piso pues en España, o al menos en Barcelona, un piso 5 es un piso 2(todavía no lo entiendo). Estábamos dos parejas perdidas buscando y timbrando en todas las puertas. Perdimos al menos 35 minutos entre ir, buscar en el edificio y pagar. Sería bueno manejar todo en el mismo lugar o al menos escribir la metodología para numerar pisos en el país o poner algún aviso.

They sent us the wrong code and we could not get into the property. We arrived at 2am due to a delayed flight and we were forced to look for another hotel to stay that night since the code Expedia and the hotel sent us did not work. Hotel staff admitted the next morning that the code we got no longer worked. This is unaxeptable! 3 women in the middle of the night trying to find a place to stay and everything was sold out!

purposely deceived

Was terribly disappointed because this was listed as a 3.5 star hotel. I even asked if this was a hotel or hostel and the guy said hotel. This is clearly a hostel as it even says "hostel" on door. As a hostel goes, it wasn't bad but it was priced like a hotel, and the strong solvent smell made my daughter throw up. In the end, we had to book a different hotel and eat the cost. I fully believe this was done on purpose by the property- i got no refund and do not appreciate being taken advantage of.

Quick weekend in Barcelona

Quick family trip. Location was very convenient to walk to some major Barcelona sites. Only part I didn't like was the reception desk was not collocated with the actual rooms to stay. It was about 8 minutes away...not the worst, but a little inconvenient (plus the tiny elevator up to the higher floors, but that's common in these buildings). We would stay here again.

Positives: Location, price, high ceilings Negatives: Checkin/out in a separate building two blocks away from the property, terrible beds (we could feel the springs), paper thin walls (no acoustic insulation whatsoever), mold on shower edges and on curtain, dirty walls, half open stuck window shutters and lack of blackout blinds, noisy fridge, no fire exit. I appreciate it is cheap but there needs to be a minimum standard.

Check your e-mail box before you go!

Getting there and finding the place to check-in was not what we had expected. We could easily find it on sat-nav but when we got there we were stood on the street for few minutes because nobody was answering the intercom. We tried ringing the phone number on the entrance door - no answer, then we tried the number from hotels.com - no answer, luckily one of the residents came out so we could enter the building. We got to the first floor and after knocking on the door the cleaning lady opened. We asked about check-in but she didn't speak english, she gave us a business card from Fontanella hotel and told us to go there. We called the number from the card and finally somebody answered. So we headed back to via Laietana and checked in (that went smooth - apparently the hotel sent an e-mail with check in instructions a week before - we missed it). Walking there and back with the luggage and after a long journey is the last thing you want when you arrive at the hotel. Secondly, we weren't expecting a very high standard as this is only a 3* hotel (we usually choose 3* hotels) but having visited over 20 countries in the past few years this hotel would be at the bottom of the list in any category (we only had a smaller room in Oslo). The window and the layout resembled a prison. No fresh air as you could only smell fried food after opening the window. The shower kit had to be held in hand and the shower curtain was covered in mold. Big plus for location and that's it.

We had trouble checking in. Be sure to call and let them know when you will arrive. Where you check in, is not where your room is. We showed up and could not find anyone. We called and emailed with no response. 30 min later we got a call and someone came to the location to meet us. The gentleman was very nice. He gave us the keys and then we walked about 10 mins to where our room was. The room was very nice. We were pleasantly surprised. I would definitely stay here again. Aside from checking in, this place was great.

Avoid

Terrible, thin spring mattresses. Walls were dirty. Room window opened up to the buildings inner court, which had no pleasant views and smelled of restaurant greases. Shower was cramped and poorly designed, which allowed for water to easily flood the bathroom floors.
