'Park Cottage' located at the end of the main street of Barwon Heads, and across from the park, offers a blend of vintage charm and relaxed coastal living, a feeling that is immediately apparent upon arrival. Outside, the cottage's allure extends to the garden and outdoor sitting areas. The front deck invites you to cook a BBQ and dine alfresco or simply soak up the sun amidst the lush greenery, while a secondary outdoor area provides a secluded space for morning coffee or sheltered dining. This is a home that truly celebrates outdoor living, with the 54 acre village parklands directly opposite the house, and the river beckoning at the end of the street.

Inside, original hardwood timber floors stretch throughout the house and each room is filled with natural light. Adorned with touches that hark back to a bygone era, the décor creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The heart of the cottage is the main living area, a spacious room where a 'Nectre' woodfire heater sits ready to envelop you in its warmth on cool evenings. Here, the rustic charm of the interior design invites you to unwind with a good book, engage in conversations, or simply enjoy the peaceful ambience.

The secondary living area serves as an escape for quiet reflection or as an entertainment space with a Smart TV, complete with games, books, and space to play. The kitchen, with its retro tiles and cabinetry, provides all the modern conveniences needed to prepare meals whilst overlooking the dining area. Split system heating and cooling provides year-round climate comfort.

Four furnished bedrooms offer comfortable retreats, and all bedding and bath towels are provided for your coastal getaway (please BYO beach towels). The master bedroom features a Queen bed, an ensuite bathroom, and direct access to the west deck, offering a quiet nook to enjoy a special moment. The additional bedrooms, two with Queen beds and one with Twin Single beds, share the home’s second bathroom, which combines the laundry facilities.

Other features of this cottage on the main street of Barwon Heads include a fully equipped kitchen (incl. microwave, dishwasher, and coffee pod machine), WiFi, fans, private off street parking for one car, and an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand. Surrounded by established trees, landscaped gardens, and secure fencing pets are permitted subject to House Rules. Please note there is a small open fish pond in the back yard.

Wander along Hitchcock Avenue to experience the local fare, with plenty more cafes, restaurants, wineries and breweries around the region. Adventure Park is also a great day out with the kids – approx. 10mins drive away. Explore day trips along The Great Ocean Road!

Tranquil and welcoming

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Park Cottage so much! Despite being on a street corner with extra traffic noise, it has a tranquil and relaxed feel. The interior areas are thoughtfully designed and decorated to be welcoming and comfortable while the lush garden is a pleasant surrounding when out on the deck. We are already planning another stay.

Chilled leafy retro vibe

Fabulously relaxed stay with our teen and young adult, and glad to have the fur kids in tow. Space for each to do their thing and enjoy the lush garden views from either of the two living rooms. It is a welcome retreat amid a chilly winter. The location is a stroll away from the vibrant town centre but offers peace and privacy. A return in warmer weather to spend more time outside sounds like a fine plan!
