Verizon Basking Ridge offers its guests an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Public spaces have WiFi and wired Internet for a fee.
Verizon Basking Ridge also features gift shops/newsstands, dry cleaning/laundry services, and express check-in.
Walls were all scuffed. Furmiture was too big for the room you could not move. I was in a pet friendly room but my dog had no place to lie down.
The restaurant was far worse. Something was stuck in a bottle of whiskey and without washing his hands, the bartender stuck his finger in the bottle shoved the debris into the whiskey then poured the drink and served the customer.
The food was over salted rubber. I checked in at 7 pm and checked out before 10 pm the same night.
Very disappointed. I had high expectations.
All the staff was helpful and very friendly. The food in the lounge was very good as was the breakfast. There is some remodeling going on but it was not an issue. The pool and exercise area were better than most. The room was large and clean.
Amazing, gorgeous, beautiful, clean, comfortable!
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in ... ever.
The area is serene and lovely... just don't accidentally turn into Verizon.
The only downside is the restaurant is ridiculously exorbitant. $4 for a mini bagel with cream cheese, what the heck.
Very beautiful location and resort. Fitness room was open 24 hrs and had great machines. Beautiful pool. Room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable; great linens too. We will definitely stay here again some time.
Greeted at the door and asked if I needed assistance and directed to front desk. Speedy friendly check in. I have been a Marriott platinum member my entire professional life but now that life is slowing down and more family focused I am taking a closer look at Wyndham properties now that I have had an exceptional first experience at a dolce property
My wife and I stayed for a few days in March 2017, because it used to be nice. Verizon bought it around the beginning of 2017, and now it's bad. Housekeeping is quite poor, and when I asked the manager about housekeeping I found the manager to be totally lacking in managerial skills and people skills. The manager went so far as to say our room wasn't cleaned all day, because we had used the Do Not Disturb Sign up until we had finished breakfast. Moreover, the toilet leaked. Even the outside maintenance was poor, leaving us with having to walk over or around ice slicks in the parking lot from a small snow storm days earlier. The only feature that wasn't bad was the staff in the dining room, but they have off on Mondays and the fill-in staff don't measure up. Now that the facility really is more a Verizon conference center rather than a hotel for the public, staying there feels like staying at the hotel in the movie The Shining.
Overall had a great stay at this hotel. It's in a secluded area so unless you drive in you won't be eating anywhere else but the restaurant located inside or delivery. The food was decent and the staff was friendly. I know that this isn't a big issue but if you are a female pack your own hair dryer their hair dryers are terrible. Not a deal breaker just a heads up :) I will be back and enjoyed my stay overall.
Lovely hotel, clean, well kept and smelled good. However the room thermostat was wired to reach 68 degrees max, so although I really needed it warmer and was able to manually turn it up to 70 it would not go higher than 68. I felt this was uncomfortable and did not appreciate being over-ruled if you will. Also, upon check-in I requested extra towels and pillows and never received them.
We arrived very early, and we were able to check in, and got comfortable in scheduling the rest of the day, which included trip to Hoboken and New York City. The only issue was the room was for handicap person, and I do not recall asking for handicap access room. The ground floor room had a patio/group area and people were hanging in that area late night around fire place and sounded like drinking and partying uptil the wee hours. Also every time we used the showers, the whole bathroom floor would got wet, and first it seems that there was a leak some where, but then we realized it's due to flat floor of the shower stall. So we ended up using all the available towels to keep it accessible for the duration of the day or night.
This is a hotel geared towards business people. We stayed on a Saturday night with our kids...and for families, I think it's a mixed bag. Nice pool which was great for the boys...and our king suite easily accommodated all of us. But, breakfast buffet is a bit pricey for a family of four and the restaurant isn't open on weekends so the boys had to eat dinner in the bar/lounge.
Some of the room furnishings could use updating--our king bed sagged in the middle and hair dryers are small, cheap models. But staff is very friendly and everything is very clean. The lobby has some great modern art to enjoy too.
