My son is a student at LSU and staying at the Cook is more convenient than any other hotel since it is near the heart of campus. Most campus locations are walkable, the rooms are spacious, and staff is friendly. Prices vary quite a bit depending on the time of year, but if it is comparable or slightly higher than other options, it’s worth booking for the location alone.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean. The breakfast is ok but there are so many wonderful places to eat in Baton Rouge that we just had coffee and a muffin to get our day started.

The hotel was on the LSU campus. Check-in was okay. I prepaid for my rooms (or so I thought) but I was told I needed to pay at check-in. I was suprised because my hotels.com receipt said I prepaid. After the confusion over payment, I was told that because I booked through a 3rd party, breakfast was not included. Hotels.com webpage stated that it was. No problem, but it could be clearer. The beds were not comfortable to me, but everyone else seemed fine with them. Very quiet and clean hotel. We did have a surprise lizard visit our room.

I’ve stayed at the Cook Hotel a few times and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and cozy. Their buffet breakfast is superior! The grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, and breakfast sausage are always made to perfection! I will be back!

a few coworkers and i went down on a small business trip and the staff were very unhelpful when it came to checking in. We were told we could use a third-party booking system and select pay at property so that we could switch to our company card. we got there but they would not allow us to do it, nor did they offer any solutions to our problem. we also had tax exemption form from the company, and they also refused to take them, stating that since we did it all through a third party that they could not accept the form. one of my coworkers did not have a party at all with switching payments and accepting his tax form but the rest of us had to pay with our own credit cards. i understand policy but how are you going to do something for one person and not everyone?? like i said the staff was very unhelpful to the point of being rude to us. i will never stay at this location for the simple fact that this staff is rude and unhelpful

The hotel was wonderfully located right on the LSU campus. The proximity to the university made our visit so much easier. There were a few minor issues with the room that could have been corrected. Overall, it was a nice property with great, helpful staff.
