Classic log cabin on Vallecito Creek!

This 3 bedroom, 2 bath plus loft and office space is the ultimate waterfront mountain escape! Privately located on the north side of Vallecito Lake, just .5 miles to the trail heads of the San Juan National Forrest, 3mi to Vallecito Lake and 40 minutes to downtown Durango, the cabin offers a rustic feel with modern conveniences. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen and stunning river rock fireplace. Relax in the hammock creek side and dine al fresco on the back deck with roar of the creek in the background. Take a dip in the mountain spring water, fly fish, or start a game of horseshoes.

The cabin layout includes the following: Fully outfitted kitchen, full size washer & dryer, living /dining room overlooking the creek. 2 bedrooms with king beds on the first floor with a full bath and oversized shower. Upstairs is a 3rd bedroom offering a queen bed and small ensuite bath in addition to the loft with double bed and desk. Outside enjoy the spacious deck, outdoor dining area and comfy chairs, hammock & swing.

Endless local activities include hiking up the creek along the miles & miles of trails via the Vallecito Creek campground in the San Juan National Forest, venture around in ATV’s up to 12,000’+ elevation via Middle Mountain Road, fishing, kayaking, boat riding on the crystal clear Vallecito Creek Reservoir. Road trip to Durango where additional shopping, dining, white water rafting & steam train await. There is also a full gym in nearby Bayfield that offers week long gym pass use.

For the cooler months, the cabin is fully stocked with split firewood (Texas oak, cedar & pine) and warm blankets while you take in the absolutely beautiful Fall color. The cabin also has a propane heater and fireplace with heatilator.

SO PEACEFUL!

We all loved this property. The cabin has a huge deck that is just feet away from the Valliceto creek, that looks like a flowing river. The sound was so relaxing and we enjoyed coffee on the deck every morning. There is wildlife all around, including deer, Elk, chipmunks, marmots and squirrels. At night we opened the windows to hear the flowing water. It was wonderful. The inside is beautiful, which everything you could ever need. The beds were so comfortable, and Andi had it stocked with coffee, tea, water, spices and other snacks. It was so nice having a washer & dryer! We really loved this beautiful cabin, and I would love to come back and stay a lot longer. There are a couple country stores and a nice restaurant nearby that has awesome breakfast and dinners. The cabin is right around the corner from Valliceto Lake which offers all kinds of water sports, paddle boarding, kayaking, pontoon rentals and fishing boat rentals. We fished right from the back deck!

Calm area

Overall was a nice place to stay only issue we had was snow/ice blocking the doors to the backyard access to river. Owners very responsive. Would like to stay again in the summer time.

Amazing Cabin with breathtaking views!

We were extremely happy with the stay, this was our first time visiting Colorado and this cabin gave us the outdoor nature vibe we were hoping to get. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone because we surely enjoyed it. Thank you again and hope to see you again in the summer next time!

Wonderful Cabin

The cabin was perfect for our family (2 adult couples and 1 single adult). The space was so peaceful and well appointed, everything we needed for cooking. Sleeping with the sound of the river outside was heaven. Easy access to the trails, lake and fishing nearby. Perfect relaxing getaway.

A Lovely Cabin with Excellent Hosts

This creek front cabin is amazing! It’s perfectly setup with everything you need to enjoy your stay. It is very clean and well laid out. For us it was about relaxation and we felt right at home here. The sound of the creek could be heard while going to sleep and waking up, which was priceless to us. We quickly figured out that a cup of coffee on the back deck watching the stream roll by was the only way to start the day. Book with confidence!!!
