I booked on Expedia for an employee travel. I called to request a cc authorization for the guest & one person at the front desk was pugnacious, for someone that was designated to answer the phone. It may have been the owner/manager, but I just didn't see the necessity in being assumptive that the guest would be destructive of the room. She offered to waive the deposit but from there escalated to promising that I would hear from her, if my employee did anything to the room while staying, & then hung up on me. Per the guest, the room had a musty odor, likely because of the dripping faucet in the bathroom tub. Everything else, was just fine.
