Very pleasant one night stay, the snug area is a nice retreat for hotel guests to get quite time away from the bustling bar....Staff v helpful and friendly....Had an excellent Roast on a Sunday, excellent beef and good value, top marks

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent gardens, delicious menu, good bar. The breakfast only starts at 8 - no good for visiting workers and the walk to the nearby beach is a bit of a nightmare.

The Inn was delightful and very well “modernized” ,yet still keeping the lovely old portions like a stained glass window in our room. We were disappointed with the service though. They were extremely busy at the time so perhaps that could explain. When the two rooms were booked well over a month ago we also booked dining for the evening. However, we were not seated at any of their pretty dining areas as they said it was all booked up. We were put at a table in the public bar area where a group were not dining but just drinking. The breakfast served in a lovely dining room was excellent— very generous portions as was the Sunday roast the previous evening.

Stayed 2 nights at the Hoop Inn, bed extremely comfortable, staff all attentive and friendly. Evening meal was excellent and the breakfasts set us up for the day. Plenty of safe off road parking. I would highly recommended and will be looking to book again if we are visiting Devon in the future.

Arrived just before check room was ready Staff did have to juggle between bar/ reception and serving meals so a little slow at times. Hubby was a bit disappointed with his lamb as had watched other people in the day getting bigger portions but tasted lovely.Anna was so helpful and Millie only saw her 1 evening but really helpful. Our dog was even given a sausage for breakfast lovely touch. The ladies cleaning the rooms were lovely.

We will definitely use this Inn again!

An overnight stay in room 2 which is directly above the bar and alongside the road however we still slept really well. The room was spacious and had a jacuzzi bath✅. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was too. We had our evening meal there and the food was terrific. There is also a very pretty garden for some afternoon beers. We will definitely be going back.

Staff were very obliging to accommodate a very late check-in( during the early hours of the morning) due to car troubles along the way. Breakfast was excellent . Room lovely.

Just perfect! Beautiful room with lovely antique furniture and toasty warm. Lovely staff and service and great meal in the pub. Definitely recommend this place Also has a beautiful garden for summer

Comfortable stay in historic inn

A very plesant overnight stay in this historic inn. Comfortable room in the stable block. Staff very friendly. Food great! Added bonus of being able to walk out to the coast path from the garden.

We used the Inn for an overnight stay after visiting RHS Rosemore. It was very easy to get to on the A39 and had excellent free parking. The host called us in advance to see if we needed a table for dinner and gave us a warm welcome on arrival. The rooms were comfortable spacious and spotlessly clean. It is an old inn and some of the furnishings are a bit worn but seemed to be part of the ambience. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and served in a friendly but efficient way. I would happily recommend to anyone not seeking a modern clinical hotel.
