Cheap, old and just only just acceptable

Nice hostess, excellent breakfast, clean beds. Room small, shower hit / miss (eiether too hot or too cold). Shower / bathroom very dated. Could have been cleaner. Bathroom mirror from a fairground. TV not secure on wall, terrible reception. Plug sockerts with missing screws. One not secure. Could not connect to wifi. Overall, very outdated, lived in (could gave been cleaner) but nice hostess and great breakfast. Cheap...

Lovely place to stay

This was the second time at the new kent and it was great again, joan is so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is amazing, the rooms are clean and tidy we will definitely be going back

Brilliant hotel, fantastic service & location

We had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend the New Kent Hotel highly enough - they are brilliant and provide positively the best English breakfast we have had anywhere!

One of the best if not THE best

Amazing place to stay. Very well kept with friendly staff. Amazing breakfast. Tram stop very close by (highly recommended the saver ticket) so no problem getting around and much cheaper than taxis. Stayed at the New Kent twice so far and plan on staying again. It really is a pleasant stay,away from all the hustle and bustle of town, yet so easily accessible.

The owner ov the new kent was very nice breakfast was brill could do with a face lift bed were ok could do with new mattress but ir is very clean n tidy 5 out 5 thank you

Room was basic but functional. Bed and furniture were only adequate. Breakfast was nice but no choice of white or brown bread. No time to eat cereal as cooked breakfast came very quickly.

Cheap Stay

Visiting relatives for a few days so we wanted something clean and cheap, and that is what we got. The owners were very helpful, the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was very nice. We got what we paid for and perhaps more besides. Parking was available after 7 on the street outside for free or there is a large car park across the street that charges £7 for every 24 hours.

Enjoyable stay

Had a lovely stay the owners of the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts we have ever had at a B & B and nothing was too much trouble - the young lad who served us at breakfast was very polite and friendly and always happy to help. We will be booking again this year to revisit during the illuminations. Thanks for a great stay 😊

A friendly family-run hotel, which offered comfortable and clean accommodation, a nice homely lounge and a good breakfast. The hotel was approximately a 20 minute stroll from the main attractions and town centre, but we made light work of this with our bikes. I would recommend this hotel, which for the money offered great value.

very close to ma kellys for entertainment ------ bad points wanted lower floor due to walking dificulties ended up top floor said not possible to change yet it seemed there were only us and 2 more there must have been other rooms available windows cold do wiyh a clean bird poo all over it cant smoke in room or eat well them rules were broken right away small tv and i mean small one small wardrobe comeing apart at the seems wi fi waste of time never got no signal bed was ok shower dont know how long you have to wait to get hot been back a day maybe warm enough now host was pleasent enough never saw any one else helping her out food was good and hot should have another toilet instead you had to go back 3 flights for a number one
