Built in 1920 as a sharecropper's house, it has been lovingly brough back to life. A beautiful retreat from Current Times 1-bedroom house. Nestled in a peaceful setting, guests can unwind in the serene atmosphere, unique with antiques, decor and misc. items like a turn table with ample albums to listen to. The cozy bedroom features a comfortable queen bed, while the living room offers an additional space with a sofa bed for extra guests. If you choose to stay here make sure you read Deb's renovation story paired with the picture album of her journey; it's gives you invaluable insight and appreciation for the home! Deb left us (and our dogs) goodies and had everything else well stocked :)

This house is so adorable and clean! I also loved the added touch of all the Christmas decorations. The host was easy to get a hold of and even left some snacks upon arrival. We had a great stay and hope to stay again in the future.

I would give it more stars if I could! The house is beautifully restored and decorated. The host was so incredibly nice and responsive. She left a bag of goodies, oranges, bananas and snacks! The bathtub is amazing! And there are bath salts and bubble bath that smell wonderful. The pull out couch bed was super comfy. We felt very pampered It's a great location, close to many restaurants and the grocery store is just a few minutes away. Would definitely stay here again! 10 stars!

Very easy to get to. Loved all the antique furniture & nostalgic decorations for the Christmas holiday. Kitchen was very roomy , but would’ve been nice a slightly larger convection/toaster oven to cook our breakfast casserole in.

Great place to stay when visiting Blanco. Very clean, well maintained, and decorated. Lots of thought into the details and personal care. Comfy bed. Quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Host even left some snacks and note for us. Would love to stay again when visiting next time.

This place is so fun to see all the cute decorations inside the house. A walk down memory lane. Cozy living room with enough sitting space for family to visit. Fireplace flame was so relaxing.

This was going back in time and walking in expecting grandmas with a plate of cookies. We were in town for an event and didn't get to spend much time in the house. But, I did find time for a bath in the clawfoot tub. We would like to come back again with no agenda and just enjoy the space.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Blanco staying in this charming home. The house is furnished with beautiful antiques, decor, and appliances that are period appropriate for this vintage cottage. The host provided snacks, breakfast items, and even treats for our dog for our visit. It was an unexpected treat! The home is close to everything in town and a short 15-minute drive to Johnson City and surrounding areas. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a lovely stay!

This place is great. I'm glad that it was saved from demolition. Came for birthday trip. Enjoyed everything about the property. The story about the property is a great short read. Sat out under the tree on the back patio. Sat on the front porch in the cool mornings. Will come back.

Loved it!

“Ethyl’s Place” was even more charming than advertised. Just less than a mile from the heart of downtown Blanco, it sat perched full of character and full of history. There is an awesome back-story of the restoration process of the house that the Homeowner shares and invites you to be a part of.“Ethy’s Place” was intimate, cozy and the perfect place to lay low with loved ones for a few days. Will definitely be back!

Perfect Hill Country Retreat

We loved our stay so much and will definitely stay again when we return the area. The house exceeded my expectations. It had everything we could need and was the cutest eclectic mix of antiques and soul. I would love to go shopping with Deb! Deb had great communication. Great location!
