A delightful, well equipped and cosy Shepard's hut with the added benefit of en suite shower room and toilet. The hut provided all the facilities needed for a relaxing break in the Dorset countryside. The local pub ( limited opening) is a short stroll away and provide excellent food and surroundings. Overall an excellent stay, thank you to the hosts for making us feel welcome.

We absolutely loved our four night stay in Foxglove.

We absolutely loved our four night stay in Foxglove. We stayed in mid November with our terrier Murphy and used the hut as a base to explore Dorset. Its location made this easy to do and the accommodation itself was perfect for us. Brilliantly designed, it has all you need for a short stay. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the shower is a fabulous pressure and hot and the kitchen area, whilst compact, has everything. The electric wood burner heats the place up nicely and the hit holds the heat all day and night. The garden area is great for a small dog to explore but secure too. Parking is close and on hard standing. We were so tired from our days’ walking the beautiful area, we stayed in each evening and that was so comfortable with relaxing chairs and great WiFi for Netflix etc!The owners, Andy and Penny, are on hand if you need them (we didn’t other than to thank them lots!)We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone who needs a wonderful bolt hole in Dorset.

Perfect for peace and quiet

Great location and hut as described. Cozy and great little enclosed garden which is safe for a dog, mine loved it. Stayed for four nights and loved it. Great hut, really well thought out. Looks out on open countryside with sheep and lambs in fields next door, only sounds were birds singing and sheep bleating. Only downside was postcode doesn’t take you to property, but asked someone and is only a few minutes away. Only one wine glass available, luckily only me staying and I always take a flute for Prosecco! but if two of you a bit difficult. No other glasses at all, but certainly didnt spoil anything, but would be nice to have some more available. Small oven that was available was a lot better than expected, no problems with it at all and did the job more than adequately. Shower great and bed really comfortable. Overall absolutely loved it and delivered on the peace and quiet front without fail. Loved the isolation, but as in my own was still great to know owners cottage was within sight. Would recommend definitely

Upon on arrival we met the very friendly owners who welcomed us to Foxglove.

Upon on arrival we met the very friendly owners who welcomed us to Foxglove. We were told we could reverse our car down the bridle way to unload and then park at the top afterwards. There was certainly plenty of space to park and we experienced no problems parking for the remainder of the week. Foxglove it self was a little paradise with our own enclosed garden with views over the fields and hills. It was lovely to watch the sheep and chickens and listen to the abundance of bird life. We even saw paragliders taking off on the hills! The shepherds hut was immaculate inside and is beautifully decorated with lots of features. The bathroom is a little gem and the shower was great. Teddy our dog loved sitting on the top of the steps surveying his domain and watching me enjoying the sunshine in one of the deckchairs, perfect! The surrounding areas are beautiful and we visited Shaftesbury and Sherborne which are quaint little places with lots of independent shops. The coast is only a short drive away so you’re spoilt for choice! The owner recommended the local fish and chip van that visits on a Thursday in the nearby village of Okeford and they were certainly very tasty. We would definitely recommend Foxglove as a wonderful peaceful place to stay and hopefully we will be back for our second visit soon.
