We live 500 metres down the road in a separate farmhouse, available if you need anything while ensuring your complete privacy. With our local knowledge, we’re always happy to recommend a winery or three, walks, swimming spots, scenic drives and dining. The best local pub and craft brewery is a short stroll from the cottage.
Our home garden at Welton House is also a New Zealand Garden of National Significance. Over the years it has appeared in books, magazines and international garden tours, and has become well known in the horticultural world. While it’s not part of the cottage stay, our Eliza's guests are welcome to visit free of charge at their leisure. It offers a sense of the wider landscape and the history that surrounds Eliza’s.
Professionally hosted since 2011, Eliza’s has become a much loved place to stay, recognised through awards, garden features and guests who return year after year. A two-night minimum stay applies (season dependent), with long-stay quotes available on request.
Eliza’s is a happy place – a small reminder of life as it should be.
