Cloud Forest Lane is a charming cottage with tasteful, upscale furnishings and finishes. It provides affordable lodging convenient to all the High Country has to offer. The long-range mountain views are unobstructed, and the rear deck provides a place to relax and dine under the sun and the stars.

Cloud Forest Lane is just minutes from Blowing Rock, Boone, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian Ski Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, and more. Its access to the main road also makes it easy to get to Banner Elk, Valle Crucis, and attractions in that area.

December in the mountains

What a lovely, relaxing get-away. The mountain views were ever changing as low lying clouds filled the valley below and we were treated to a full moon to light the night sky. The home was just right for this couple's stay. The kitchen was well appointed for meal prep and the furnishings thru out the house were comfortable. The house was easily located (thanks to good directions provided) and accessible. The area was very quiet,. Perfect for escaping noise of everyday life. Yet, you were only a few miles from downtown Blowing Rock. Thanks for the ease of booking, timely communication and accurate representation of this property.

Coming Back!

Although the back deck had not been cleaned off, the inside was very clean, well appointed, and very much felt like home. It was nicely decorated, and small additions were included to make life a little easier. Items like plastic wrap, charcoal, and even a hand mirror were included. This cabin was easy to access and only a short drive to town. We brought the dogs. The yard was huge and fenced. Couches and beds were very comfy. All-in-all, I would rate this an A+. Oh, and the view was to die for.

Cozy cabin in the perfect location!

We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin was perfect for our small family, pet friendly, amazing views and so close to Blowing Rock. We had a fantastic time and will be back!

Nice Cottage

The cottage was nice and very comfortable. It has a lovely view. The only issue I had was with check-in. I am oxygen dependent and equipment was being delivered. Hurricane Ian was due to come in and a request was made for an earlier check-in time so the equipment could be delivered. I received a quick response saying I could check-in at 1pm (3 hours early) for $85 + tax.

Family weekend!

We brought our daughters for a weekend of family time and had the best weekend! So many things to do nearby! The cabin is so cozy and relaxing. Just beautiful and well appointed! Thank you! We will be back!

Peaceful location about 10 mins outside of Blowing Rock town center. The cottage is very clean and well appointed with newer appliances and comfy furnishings. Fantastic unobstructed mountain views from the living area, one bedroom and the deck.

Magical mountain view

fantastic.

having owed vacation rental properties myself i understand what it takes to offer a overall great experience. we have been coming to blowing rock for 6 years and this house, property, and rental agency offered everything that we could possible want or need for a top notch vacation experience. it started with the cleanliness and then continued with comfort. the location and ease to all the great hikes is a bonus. everything you could need in the way of kitchen supplies and outdoor grills are at your finger tips. in not to mention the morning sunrises are spectacular!!! this will be our go to every time it is available to us. i’m so excited to come back again in the summer to experience another season.

Great view, quiet, great for dogs

View on the back deck is great. The fenced yard was great for our dogs. Nice quiet location a few miles from the shops in Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Pkwy, and hiking trails.

Peace and tranquility

We enjoy the drive up parking and not having to take our stuff up stairs. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. We go just to watch the sunrise and rest. We don't feel the need to go find entertainment, although this is close to Boone, Blowing Rock, and more

Cabin in the clouds

We were very pleased with the mountain views, peace & quiet, cooler temperatures, once the tropical storm passed through. Location was convenient to resturants, shopping, attractions, grocery stores in Boone and Blowing Rock. The Blowing Rock attraction with museum and nice gift shop was worth the cost and hour or so of your time. Nice towels and very good water pressure which made for great hot showers. Kitchen is updated with heavy duty soft close cabinets, newer appliances, granite countertops, plenty of dishes, glasses, baking pans, skillets etc. I didn't prepare any large meals but I have no doubt you could in this kitchen. I did think the lighting was lacking in the kitchen. Stocked with cleaning supplies, spices, iron & iron board , blow dryer, starter paper products. Plenty of books and several puzzles and games. As other reviewers mentioned, the skylights did not leak. There were non-central A/C units which we did not need. in the (LR and Deck side bedroom) Plenty of pillows, two throws, three blankets. Con: The hard wood floors were not clean.

Wonderful Stay

This cabin was perfect for our visit. 8” of snow greeted us so the beautiful fireplace burned the entire stay. The “long view” is beautiful in any season and we were even able to spend a sunny afternoon out on the deck.

Great stay with an amazing view.

The view was amazing. But you are isolated on a steep mountain but only 9-10 minutes from the town. Didn’t like the drive up the hills but blowing rock was great and the house had all the amentities you could need. There was a bit of a leak from the skylights in the living room when it rained and there were a few bugs but nothing unbearable. Great stay.

Comfortable stay; nice view

Enjoyed a long weekend getaway with our adult children. Easy check-in. Great location. Very clean upon arrival - we even had a new sponge provided for kitchen. Beds comfortable. View is spectacular. Couches also very comfy and cozy. Even throw blankets smelled like they had been washed. Gas log fireplace was so nice! Huge deck with lots of furniture/grills. Kitchen well equiped. Plenty of nightable space - though could use better accessibility to outlets for charging phones. Shelves in bathroom provided plenty of space for toiletries for multiple people. A very enjoyable, comfortable stay!

After having bad experiences in years past, cloud croft was perfect for us. Clean, bright , one level and parking at door. Mountain scene from deck and inside was panoramic. Will definitely rent again!!!!

The little things

View is fantastic. Cushions were soaked and could only sit out there one afternoon after draining pillows which poured water out of them. Refrigerator had broken handle which was unattached at one end. Skylights leak in the rain and the sofa got wet. The TV set up is not intuitive and 4 remotes have infinite numbers of options for which input you need to set up. The bedding had a vague body odor to it and pillows were flat and marginal at a low grade motel. Dishwasher is also not intuitive to operate so count on a few try’s to make it work. Pushing normal and start did not work. Flashing light mentions timer reset. We thought we set it but on return it had not started. Other items for cooking were minimal so bring your own favorite utensils. Funny they have a Keurig Device and a tiny 4 cup coffee maker on the counter. If you are a Keurig user and travel with the coffee supplies needed you would be happy, but that is not us. We found a standard 12 cup deep in the back of a cabinet however so swapped out for the 4 cup. The tub also dripped and the property manager let us know in advance about that. The dripping sound blended into the rain so that was all fine. This stay had more than the usual share of little issues. The view is fantastic if I did not mention that.

A great place to stay

The property is well-maintained, with a few small needed repairs. The cooking facilities were excellent, and the beds were comfortable. The view from the back of the house is beautiful. The parking area was plenty big for our SUV, and was level with the entry to the interior. The TV was large and clear. Instructions as to which of the 4 remotes does what would have saved time. For the two of us, this was more than adequate. It was very private.

Excellent Mountain Vacation

Nice cozy cabin with a fantastic view! Exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Convenient to Blowing Rock, Boone, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Peaceful evenings sitting on the deck after a day of hiking were a great way to wind down.
