Beautiful Country Studio Minutes Away from Bogota

Th studio is surrounded by shade trees and exotic flowers. It has a large veranda that goes all around the house allowing for sitting and hammock areas overlooking the scenery. The interior has a queen bed and a day bed as well as an antique desk and traveling trunk. The cottage is encased in large glass windows, including the shower. This is the perfect retreat for the writer, the student, the artist and in general for everyone who loves nature and wants to escape the craziness of the city. It invites meditation and yoga practioners love it.
El estudio esta rodeado de jardines y arboles de sombra. Tiene un corredor amplio que mira al paisaje. . Es el lugar perfecto para los escritores, estudiantes, artistas y en general para todos aquellos que quieren escapar del bullicio de la ciudad
We have a fantastic and knowledgeable caretaker, Mario, who is always ready to help our guests. Mario knows the region and can point you to trekking trails, town events, local food places and much more. He lives in the premises and we provide his cel number.
En la finca tenemos un mayordomo, Mario , que vive alli en la casa grande, que cuida los terrenos y que. se conoce todos los caminos reales . Es de gran ayuda y muy colaborador. El tiene celular y se pueden comunicar con el todo el dia y todos los dias.
Choachi has a wonderful temperate climate and since the studio is located further down the mountain, close to the river, it is even warmer with an average temperature of 24 degrees centigrade or about 10 to 15 degrees warmer than the city. We are located about 20 minutes by car from the town of choachi ( 10km) and maybe 20 minutes walking from the smaller town of la union. We are walking distance to rio blanco and rio negro. The region is famous for its "amasijo" (bakery goods) and sweets as well as the typical and delicious breakfasts with potato soup and arepas de maiz ( corn patties). We also have great restaurants in town and a fantastic gourmet restaurant in one of the b and b in the area. There is always the possibility of renting horses and salomon can guide you to the best. The hot springs located a short drive from the cottage are known for their relaxing and curative characteristics.
El clima de choachi no tiene igual. Es 10 a 15 grados f mas caliente que bogota y el studio unos mas que choachi debido a que queda abajo de la montana casi a borde de ri o.Del estudio se puede caminar al rio y tambien al pueblo de la union. Queda a 20 minutos de choachi en carro y (10km) y a unos 20 minutos caminando de la union. Hay varias carreteras de acceso. La zona es famosa por su amasijo, la belleza de su naturaleza ( tiene mas de 100 especies de colibris) sus montanas y la amabilidad de sus gentes. Las aguas termales quedan a pocos minutos manjenado. Salomon les puede indicar en donde arrendar caballos en caso que asi lo deseen.
Getting around
getting to and from the studio is simple. From the city you drive for 55 minutes and you reach choachi. From the town you drive to la escuela in la vereda de rio blanco and for El Zancudo. . Everybody knows the main house!. If you want to use public transportation, transportes oriente has small buses that leave from downtown bogota every day starting at 7 am and every 15 minutes and the same going back. Once you get to town we provide you with different drivers' information that you call to take you to the cottage. Otherwise we have trustworthy drivers that will take you from bogota directly to the cottage.
Llegar al estudio es muy facil. De bogota a Choachi manejando son 55 minutos y de choachi a la finca 15 a 20 minutos. Tambien se puede tomar el transporte publico bien sea con taxis (recomendados por nosotros) o utilizando transportes oriente cuyas busetas salen de la terminal al sur de la ciudad cada 15 minutos. Una vez en el pueblo tenemos varios contactos de choferes que le les llevan al zancudo (nombre de la casa grande) por un precio razonable y nosotros les damos sus numeros de celular.
