Casa Ruiva - Portugal West Coast

The village legend has it that the foundations of this house date back to the 13th century, as an old inn, and today, it is our beautiful weekend house with a pool in a wine village.
Enjoy the warm daytime climate and the cool and humid nights, so characteristic of the West of Portugal.

- New deck in the outdoor and pool area, much more beautiful and comfortable.
- Central air conditioning (hot and cold) throughout the house. The Atelier has a portable air conditioner.
- New pool water filtration system and updated vinyl lining. Clearer water and a more comfortable pool.
- The kitchen oven has been replaced with a new one.

Casa Ruiva is my weekend, holiday, and retreat home when I escape from Lisbon.
I live 45 minutes away, in Lisbon, and I am passionate about travel and architecture — the result is this house, full of soul and personality.
At Casa Ruiva, you will find a village house decorated in an original Mediterranean style with natural, locally sourced materials. I love beautiful, cozy homes with character.

Casa Ruiva consists of the main house, the atelier, and a fantastic garden with a pool (2.70m wide and 4.50m long)— all exclusively for the guests.
In the main house, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, a living room, a complete bathroom with a shower, a small bedroom with two single beds (one is a bunk bed, 1.70m in length, ideal for children), and the master bedroom on the first floor with a double bed and stunning views of the vineyards and the century-old chapel of our neighbor’s estate.

The Atelier, full of charm, features a cozy suite with a double bed and a small bathroom. Every booking, regardless of the number of guests, guarantees exclusive access to the house and the garden.

The garden, in addition to 300m² of lawn, fruit trees, and inspiring little shrines, has an 80m² sun-drenched deck (shielded from the wind — essential when it's windy at the beach) with a pool, an outdoor dining table with six chairs, a sun umbrella, and canvas chairs for lounging in the sun.
The scent of fruit and flowers is ever-present... You’ll find regional fruit trees (pears, peaches, apples, lemons, and loquats) and seven-meter-tall bamboo.
