Just 5 miles from downtown Blowing Rock, this home is a gateway to quaint shopping, delectable dining, a family park, and many festivals and events throughout the year. For the avid hiker, the home's driveway leads to private access to the Moses Cone Park trails – a sprawling 25 miles of scenic hiking trails. The Hebron Falls Trailhead and entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway are a mere 3 miles away. Thrilling winter activities await at Appalachian Ski Mountain, an easy 8-mile drive. The vibrant towns of Boone (8 miles) and Banner Elk (14 miles) are also within reach, as are a host of high country attractions, including Tweetsie Railroad, Sky Valley Zipline Tours, Boone Golf Course, Doc's Rocks Gem Mining, and much more!

Guests of Grandfathered Inn have permission to use the amenities available at the Yonahlossee Racquet Club! The pro shop, the indoor swimming pool, the indoor tennis facility, the fitness center, outdoor tennis courts, and the pickleball courts are all less than a mile away, inside the gated community and within a 1/2 mile walking distance. The indoor swimming pool and tanning deck is a wonderful feature. Please remember that the indoor and outdoor courts and amenities are only available during staffed hours, which change seasonally. Courts must be reserved, and a small hourly fee may apply. Please contact the Pro Shop to make court reservations and obtain more info on hours and availability during the dates you plan to come. There is a camera at the property facing the driveway.

Enjoy the trails, picnic areas, small creeks and streams, and ample outdoor common areas. For the more experienced hiker, some incredible, marked trails are nearby, leading to boulder fields for rock climbers. The cycling on and around Shulls Mill Road and the Blue Ridge Parkway is some of the most sought-after, so we host many cyclists at our Yonahlossee properties. Great Family Getaway

This property is so spacious, clean, and well-stocked which makes it a home away from home. The game room and hot tub were well-appreciated amenities. The only thing some of us missed was Directv.We enjoyed the beautiful mountain views including the deer, chipmunks, and other wildlife. The location near Boone and Blowing Rock make it perfect for a mountain vacation. This property is one that will draw you back for repeated visits!

Perfect Visit to Boone

The house exceeded all expectations. It’s bigger than I expected which was a very pleasant surprise. Everyone had plenty of space and privacy when needed. It was exceptionally clean and well appointed. We had two questions during our stay and we received immediate responses. The views were stunning! We will be back for our daughter’s graduation in December and hope to stay here again.

Immaculate and Quaint house with Beautiful Views

This house was impeccable and very well maintained. It was exactly how the house was described in the listing, plus had tons of extras. This house had tons of extras to make you feel like you are home away from home and the views are to die for. We cooked a 5 course meal one night while at the house, and had all the pots, pans, and utensils necessary to do so. Definitely will be coming back.

The cabin was exactly and more than the description. We will be back. The bonus is a hiking trailhead at the bottom of the driveway and the Gamekeeper restaurant near the community entrance. We relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Great ski weekend with friends!! House was perfect for our three families to spread out but we also enjoyed lots of time together in the spacious kitchen during meals and football! Had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. Can't wait to return on our next trip to Boone.

Graduation celebration in the tree tops

Our family gathered from around the country fir the first time since covid to celebrate my sons graduation from App State. The house was an amazing venue. the space and decor along with the views made for a splendid week. Lots of stairs but the bedrooms and living spaces made it worthwhile. Highly recommend grandfathered Inn. Hope to come back!

Beautiful Home in a Great Location

Gorgeous house with beautiful views from nearly every room. Good location just outside both Boone and Blowing Rock, with many trails and outdoor activities near by. Very private and quiet. Just what we were looking for and I can't wait to stay here again.

Great family getaway

Stayed 3/27-3/30. Wonderful house, large enough for six adults and three children 1, 5 and 7. Everything was modern, large kitchen and dining room to allow everyone to eat together. Great views from several rooms. lots of fireplaces and tvs. Would recommend for a large group. Nice and comfortable.

Amazing Stay

We stayed over the New Year weekend with 8 adults, 3 kids and dog and were more than comfortable. INCREDIBLE mountain and sunset view, heaters on the porch make this space usable day and night. Kitchen and house well stocked with extras. Fireplaces are cozy, rooms are too. A King bed in the 4th suite would be ideal for families and couples staying together. Some improvement in overall cleanliness would be good but not dirty in general. Hot tub was glorious. Bring: some extra paper towels. Blowing Rock very close by and convenient for anything you forgot. NOTE: Watch weather closely and take the suggestions for chains and 4WD vehicle seriously. There’s no way we would have made it up very steep road to house if there was snow. Would stay again, beautiful property.
