The apartment was very large, clean, and in an excellent location. There is only 1 toilet, which is visible in the pictures, however the icons make it look like there are 3. There is one shower, and one bathtub that has shower head extensions that you could hold up, but there is no curtain. Communication with Julie was great. She was welcoming and gave us great suggestions for things to do, places to eat, etc. There was another person who was also communicating (my guess is more local). He was good at first, but then did not answer the last few days. Overall it’s a beautiful large property with 1 toilet and 1 shower.

The apartment was charming. The bedroom were well sized as well.With that being said, the apartment did not feel clean in all areas, furniture felt very unsturdy (we did not use anything in the family/living spaces) and lastly, incredibly hot. The latter, we realized the property did not have AC nor can anyone predict the recent temperature trends. But, the fans provided were not well suited for the current conditions of which we hope the host wld look to accommodate.This is our 5th time to France, 3 times in Paris and this is our second to Bordeaux, so we are well accustomed to the old, quainter properties and limited options (eg. AC, etc). The is our first experience, however, where the property was in this condition, with paying just as much if not more.

I’ve been staying in vacation rentals on VRBO for over a decade, but I’ve never run into a home and an owner quite this bad.The location for this rental is in a good spot in central Bordeaux in the Golden triangle, but the good stops there.Prior to our stay, we reached out to the owners about the recent heat wave with temperatures around 100 every day, and the others said heat waves happen and that they would put a few fans in the house. When we got in the fan in the living room fell over and didn’t rotate, and one of the bedroom fans was broken. The second day we opened the kitchen window in the top half of it, fell off the track and remained unable to close the rest of the trip.The house was intolerable from noon till almost 7 PM because of the heat. And then as the weekend approached, there was wildfires in the region in the entire home filled with smoke. We reached out to the owners because we are having breathing problems at night and all the windows aren’t sealed they’re literally wooden shutters or you can see the light from outside coming through so naturally Smoke poured through them.The owners told us this was nature occurring, and that there was other people in the region suffering more. We checked out two days early and got a hotel and politely asked for a refund for the last two days and we were really scuffed up by the owner as being spoiled guests.
