Please note: Travelocity says check-in is up to 11pm. This property closed check in at 10pm. However, they left a key and very good instructions because we called ahead. It’s a no-frills arrangement. We weren’t sure what to expect in as remote a part of the country as this, but the room was fine. Utilitarian is the word for it. 5 beds, 2 comfy chairs, and a shower/restroom. No table. Only one of the heaters seemed to work (but it’s a big room). And half the overhead lights didn’t appear to work. But at $400/night, I was honestly expecting a bit more. For $475/night, we rented a two-story, 2BR penthouse in Reykjavik the same week. However, it’s probably a market issue, and people need places to stay in that area. To be fair, we didn’t contact the owner about any of this, so they didn’t have a chance to address anything. We really just need a place to sleep and take off again in the morning, and this worked just fine.
