VĂ­Ă°ines is a perfect base for your Icelandic holiday. Have a memorable day at SnĂŠfellsnes National Park, visit a natural hot spring like Deildartunguhver, or amazing waterfall like Hraunfossar. Other interesting places to visit are, the active volcano GrĂĄbrĂłk, the crater Eldborg, historical viking landmark Reykholt, and the Ice tunnel in the glacier Langjökull. You can stroll through the nearby cozy town of Borgarnes and drop by the cafe’s, museums, shops and restaurants. Take a drive to the capital ReykjavĂ­k with all its glory, nightlife and culture. Make a day trip on the Golden Circle and see the exploding Geysir with all its natural power, and drop by the historic Thingvellir National Park, and view close up the beautiful Gullfoss waterfall.

In the evenings you will always come back home to this modern architecturally designed house in VĂ­Ă°ines and the first thing you might do is, relax in the hot tub and enjoy the views or the Northern Lights in the peace and quietness after a memorable day. Did I mention that this house is in a fantastic Nature Hiking Paradise...

The house has an open kitchen-living room with a large kitchen island. It is very spacious and ideal for family and friends preparing a good meal together. The kitchen has all necessary tableware and high quality equipment for cooking and baking. The living room has floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view. Even if you are inside it feels like you are still completely connected to nature. The bathroom is spacious with a large countertop, a large shower room and a warm towel rack. The house has all latest equipment; FREE WIFI, large flat screen TV, dishwasher, washing machine and everything between. See detailed facility and equipment below. The guest house has a double bed and a bathroom with a towel rack. Beside the guest house is an outside shower, perfect to use before entering the hot tub.

The design of the house is outstanding and well thought out. It has floor to ceiling windows, open space, hardwood floor, natural stone tiles, designed lighting and with one of the most advanced and environmentally friendly floor heating systems installed in houses today. The heating system is perfect and we can guarantee you a warm and cozy house in the winter time. The house is designed by one of our greatest architects, GuĂ°finna Thordarson, that has also designed many other modern houses in Iceland.

On the large patio surrounding the house is a nice hot tub that fits up to 7 people, outdoor shower, barbecue grill and comfortable outdoor seating. The patio is perfect for making a good meal and relaxing in the peaceful environment.

We have been connected to Borgarfjörður since childhood and would like to share good advice and information about the house or the area so donŽt hesitate to send us an email request about anything you would like to know and we will do our best to help you.

Notre meilleur séjour en Islande !

La maison est splendide et trĂšs bien Ă©quipĂ©e. La communication avec Rob et Heidi est aisĂ©e et on sent qu'ils sont soucieux du bien ĂȘtre de leurs hĂŽtes. Le cadre est magnifique, la maison est spacieuse, il ne manque rien pour cuisiner ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas quand on voyage Ă  9... Un sĂ©jour de rĂȘve... seul regret, n'ĂȘtre pas restĂ© assez longtemps !

We had a great stay at Nes! The house was spotless and we appreciated all the amenities, such as the hot tub and fireplace. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and stocked with plenty of towels and essentials like shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, good knives and other cooking utensils, and spices. We saw the northern lights several times from the spacious deck which also has a nice grill for cooking. We would love to stay here again or at one of the host’s other properties.

Incredibly beautiful, clean, well-kept home in a stunning location. We stayed a few days in October and the home was so lovely. The owners were incredibly communicative and helped us troubleshoot an issue, even late at night. Couldn’t ask for more. Great option if you want to stay out of Reykjavik. The nearby waterfalls are beautiful and just a short walk away. There was ample gathering space for our family of 5 with everyone getting their own room. Hot tub was lovely.

The house is beautiful with windows everywhere to help enjoy the amazing setting! Everything was extremely clean and very well taken care of. The kitchen was fully stocked. The outdoor shower (with heat lamp) was a treat each morning; and the hottub was awesome in the later afternoon. We used this spot to explore western iceland and it worked perfectly. Getting to the house was a little bit confusing- but only because of our unfamiliarity. If you just follow the direction as given, it is totally fool proof. Also, there is a river about 100 yards from the house which was a very nice surprise to us. Highly recommend this place!!!

Wonderful home

Amazing home, modern and well kept, with stunning views of the mountains and a great place for viewing the aurora borealis. A beautiful deck and hot tub, and a cute guest house with half bath a bit separate from the main house. A fireplace in the living room was very cozy. There were kids games and toys for different ages. Plenty of linens and towels provided, and the host was helpful and communicative, with easy arrival, check-in and check-out. The location was great for our adventures exploring Iceland in November. Would highly recommend for a family stay; we hope to return!!

Beautiful and peaceful

The house is beautiful, and the views from all the windows are wonderful. Being Canadian, we did need to turn the temperature down on some of the thermostats :) We enjoyed a fire in the fireplace with the supplied wood, and saw the northern lights from the hot tub. Bed was very comfortable and again, being Canadian, we adapted to having separate duvets on one bed! Instructions and directions were very timely and clear and made for a seamless arrival and departure. We loved it there, thank you for making our first trip to Iceland so comfortable!

Perfect stay

This is our third time in Iceland & we have stayed in a different part each time. I have to say that this location is ideal for getting to the north & the peninsula. The house is in a quiet location & it has everything you need. Everything is in great working order & it’s clean & homey. The communication with the owner is excellent & they have very thorough house instructions that I appreciate. I would gladly stay here again & I highly recommend it to others.

Iceland 2024

This house was absolutely perfect for our group of nine. The house was well stocked and the owners were wonderful with communication and information about the house and the surrounding area. It is located in the perfect place and we walked to the waterfall everyday and were able to climb the crater once. It was a good spot to feel relaxed, but close enough to Borganes to grab groceries etc. The house itself was lovely and the hot tub and scenery were perfect after a day of hiking.

Perfect stay!

We spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay! It was the best accommodations of our trip. The house is welcoming and well equipped with everything we needed such as towels and kitchen supplies. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. We enjoyed spending our evenings in the hot tub with the beautiful views of the mountains. There are a few other houses near by, but far enough away where the house still felt private and peaceful. We were able to walk to a nearby waterfall and enjoyed the many lupine flowers blooming in the area. We would highly recommend and hope to make our way back in the future!

Family Vacation in NES

Property was spectacular - views, location and home were the best! We were off the beaten path by design to view Northern Lights without light conjestion. We had incredible sightings!!
