How close is Boston Historical Urban Oasis to the airport?
This vacation home is 7.8 mi (19-min drive) away from the Boston, MA (BNH-Boston Harbor Seaplane Base) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
Was in town with extended family for weekend of Boston College baseball. Location of property was excellent for both BC and Fenway. First floor bedroom was very convenient for my 85 year old father. Property was clean with large bedrooms and nice living room. Would highly recommend property for large family groups!
Awesome place but a little more run down than the pictures look. Particularly as you go further up in the house. The host was quick and responsive to requests. However the reason Iâm lowering the rating is they were very aggressive when they called in response to my friend who got stung in the face which is an odd reaction given they werenât the one that got stung in the face and all. They sent someone out at night to look who took blurry pictures of a roof which he used as proof that there were no wasps, they were under it not on it. Then they sent pictures of a trashcan and some cars parked near it. There was also trash all over the back area, like a remodel had started a while ago but they never got around to discarding the old stuff.
We had a family group for a college graduation. We needed plenty of rooms, kitchen, and good location. This property had it all and was great! We could easily walk or drive to Harvard Square. Entrance is in the back and has 6-8 stairs up to a deck and back door. On the first floor are a large bedroom and full bath, good for anyone with mobility issues. The second floor has a full bath and third floor has a half bath. Communication with the property manager was fast and efficient. All went well and I recommend!
Came to Boston for a Sox game with my daughter's Family - they won!! House was pristine clean with all beds made up on arrival!! While it was built in 1900, there were many updates!! Everyone glad for the abundant a/c's as it was over 90 deg out. Only add I would have had, was for a couple rolls paper towels & extra trash bags. Thanks again!!!
I would recommend this house. See comments below however.
First - T station is not a 2 minute walk, it's 2 miles away. Everything else was great. House was clean! All bedrooms are big with plenty of room. The living room and kitchen are nice spaces but a little tough if you have a large group (10-14 people) looking to have a hang out space. We used it as a home base and were out traveling Boston and Cambridge and was perfect for that. Kitchen supplies for 10-14 people were not there. Bring plastic utensils as we did. Uber rides to the areas of interest was reasonable and easy! House was clean with nice patio deck off the back. House easily fits 3 cars. We got 4 mid to smaller cars in the driveway. Remember you are staying at a residence not a hotel. If you bring what you plan on using you will not be disappointed. There are plenty of supplies but if you are expecting something to be there and its not you will be not happy. Host was very prompt in getting back with any questions.
Let's start out with good. It has 7 bedrooms and is a large house. Their description says that it can accommodate up to 14 people, but it has only 8 plates, 8 cups, etc. The sink sponge was dirty and there wasn't any dish towels. Nor were there any towels for drying your hands in the bathroom. I ended up purchasing toilet paper since there wasn't enough of that. The worst part was their description said "less than a 2 minute walk to the greenline train station" Then messaged them and they confirmed it was a 2 minute walk to catch the T. The Greenline is 1.9 Miles away!! The Redline is close to 3 miles away. I screen shot both when I got to each line. Oh and it's like 12 to 14 stops to the Blueline where everything is. Not the 4 stops they also wrote in their description. It has a back yard but is full of junk. It looked like someone was evicted and they threw all of their belongings out back. If you need several rooms and don't mind walking it's fine to stay at. But don't believe their description. And take lots of before and after pictures.
