Enjoy your morning coffee from the upstairs balcony overlooking the mountains or relax on the covered front porch surrounded by mature trees and peaceful surroundings. We mainly chose to rent this house for its excellent location, within walking distance to Pearl Street as well as two of our favorite spots, Hungry Toad and Sweet Cow. However our stay was uncomfortable for a few reasons. The upper floor was very warm and uncomfortable for sleeping. Boulder was experiencing temperatures in the 90s, and the A/C could not keep up. It was mid to upper 80s in the upstairs bedrooms in the evenings. And the house rules do not allow opening windows, so even though the outside temperature cooled off overnight, we couldn't take advantage.There is no washer OR dryer. They're not listed in the amenities, so it's my fault for not noticing it. But for a full house rental in this price range, I definitely expected it. Had I noticed, I would not have booked this house.The clawfoot bathtub/shower in the upstairs bathroom is very impractical. It's difficult to climb in and out as there is nothing to grab on to. And the shower curtain can't go all the way around the tub, making it hard to keep water from splashing out of the tub and onto the wood floors. The house rules are very clear about keeping the wood floor dry, so we put down towels all over the place.The coffee service area (keurig machine, drip machine, kettle) is also very impractical since it's on an antique wood furniture piece. Again, very hard to keep the wood dry - we used lots of towels.Overall impression - beautiful historic house in a great location, but not comfortable nor practical.
